Maverick Race
Maverick Race is undoubtedly one of the best trail running organisers in the UK. The company was started down on the Jurassic Coast back in 2013 by Ben and Justin. Since then they’ve delivered events which are guaranteed to take you to some of the most scenic locations in the UK. However, what really separates Maverick is their strive for inclusivity in the outdoors. From 6km entry level runs to 50km ultra marathons, there really is something for everyone. Afterwards you’ll find everyone hanging around, enjoying some fresh pizza, and speaking to like minded people with a shared passion for trail running.

First time doing a maverick event and it was amazing! I loved the relaxed atmosphere, it was really well organised, parking was ample and easy, and the course was fantastic (if just a tad muddy!!). The post race goodies were awesome and I loved the live music and fire pits. Can’t wait to do another event, thank you to everyone involved in the organisation!

Great event my only slight criticism was the start should have been more staggered to avoid the huge waits at various style / gate crossings. All it would need is some time between the short, middle & long start times and it would be ok. Admittedly it wasn't helped by the extremely muddy conditions but waiting for 10mins to climb over a style is quite frustrating not to mention cold when its raining!

Awesome event loved it! Wave starts would work better as it was very stop/start at the beginning & queues through narrow paths & over stiles

Joined the event with my son Rob although we didn't run together as he was rather pacier than me! I have been increasing my weekly mileage over the last few weeks and so was confident about finishing. The Somme-like mud was a challenge but I loved the whole event and vibe. This was my first competitive off-road event since Norfolk School Boys Cross Country in 1976! But not my last. See you next time. Andrew Dawson

My first trail race and part of the reason I picked this one is because I'd read how friendly Maverick races are. All volunteers on the day welcoming, friendly & helpful. Great atmosphere to chill out at afterwords. Course very well marked so no fear of getting lost. Big hills, lots of mud, huge amount of fun.
