The last Maverick x TRIBE Run Free was chosen as one of the top ten races of 2018 by Coach Magazine and sold out six weeks before the race. In 2019 were going even bigger and better!

We're heading to the beautiful Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to explore the trails surrounding Wormsley Park. The routes we have mapped are intended to test you. With a half or Full marathon route to choose from, there's something for everyone. The trails will lead you through the Chilterns up and over undulating hills with panoramic views across the escarpment. Trail running doesn't get better than this.

In true Maverick x TRIBE style, there will be a huge post-race celebration to look forward to! Expect: an epic variety of delicious food and drink to kick back and enjoy; dreamy summer festival vibes; cosy firepit chill-out zones; an awesome selection of live music acts and inspiring speakers. The TRIBE shake shack will be in full operation and the limited edition TRIBE x Maverick Trail Ales ready and waiting when you cross the finish!

Round up your friends and family to explore the stunning Wormsley Park and surrounding area, take a walk around the course and enjoy the full festival village experience. Together, we go further and faster.

  • Did the Half Marathon Route in 2019

This is a great event (our first trail), there are a few things that could be improved but overall we had a fantastic day and will be back.
    - This is actually 15miles
    - Getting there is really easy and there is plenty of parking.
    - They need more toilets, although they did hold for the start which was nice
    - I don't know how they get around this but down the first hill there is a style and one almighty log jam. We were waiting a good few mins to get through it. Everyone was pretty cool about it and I don't know if its possible to put in another temporary one?
    - The countryside is stunning and the atmosphere was really great, aid stations well stocked too (although they need to add one for the short route which my GF did)

    - The course is hilly and the final hill is an absolute brute but the countryside is spectacular.
    - Post race is a really nice area with food and beer and some live music as you cheer people through.

Ben Macwilliam is an organiser with high standards and this event is a fine example. It was more than a race it was a very cool day out. I unexpectedly met up with old friends who travelled over 100 miles to come and take part as they love these races. I think that just shows the reputation of this event. Everyone there was very friendly and the team on the day were very helpful and fun to talk to. I have not done a trail race for years but I will be back for more with Maverick Races as it was simply awesome. No excuses get out and run in the hills and feel alive!
  • Did the Full Marathon Route in 2019

I booked into this race on the day as online entries were closed and Was not sure until the night before if I could attend this event. I rocked up with no specific training to cover the distance but arrived with an attitude to enjoy the day and the great outdoors. Parking was plentiful and the race start HQ was a short walk away. Booking in was easy as they took cash or Credit/Debit card. There were a few stalls selling items and a lovely cake stall with a big spread.

The run: The route was amazing with perhaps 500 meters of road over the long course. This was just to transition from one trail to the next. Having the sun was a gift and only made the experience so much better. The course was not flat. That was obvious from the start. Within the first three miles I had been up and down, up and down and was looking at more up. Dashing through woods under a green canopy was just what every trail runner wants. The footing was great as we navigated the soft trail under foot, although exposed tree routes caught a couple of runners unaware. The whole route was mile after mile of delight and I was only disappointed that my energy was giving out as I hit the final climb, which was a little cheeky.
