Did the race in 2019
Enjoy the 1st flat mile because after that its either up or down & it feels like mostly up. Gun hill is a climb but you greet it with fresh legs & after the climb there is a lovely run down to build up some speed again. After that it's 'undulating' and some of the climbs seem endless, especially the last drag up before the relief of that final decent back down Gun hill. It is without doubt a tough one but the organisation, fantastic supportive marshalls & banter with other runners create a great atmosphere. Love the prizes from The Bobble Hat co too👍🏻The knee jerk reaction is 'never again' but for some strange reason, I know I will😂 Besides anything else, once I've done Meerbrook, I feel like I can face any road race!💪

Fantastic race, very hilly! But I was expecting that so it lived up to expectation. Great motivational utube videos afterwards of everyone running up Gun Hill. Not to be missed!

Great course probably on a par with snowdon marathon, so different to anything else I've done, well organised. May after look at the starting area has this event keeps growing. Well done everyone

Did the race in 2017
First time I had seen the location let alone run it but it was a lovely setting. Good atmosphere and well marshalled. Good views and scenery all through the route. Opportunity for 2 waters along the way which was appreciated. I personally was cautious about the route and how fast I went off based on what I had read, yes there are hills but equally what goes up must come down so there was plenty of down hill too enabling you to catch your breath again and prepare for the next hill. T shirts given to all those who tool part and I thought it was an appropriate caption on the front! I would recommend the race and for anyone who hasn't ran a 15k you will get a PB regardless! I hope to be back next year and better prepared.
