This series of adventure races takes a different more challenging approach to racing. Participants will put their orienteering skills to the test and familiarize themselves with the local ordnance survey map. The name of the game is to hit as many check points as you can in the time allocated.
The Courses:
Long Adventure Race: Is a 4-hour navigational test where participants start on foot and transition to mountain bikes along the way.
Short Adventure Race: Is a 2-hour navigational test where participants start on foot and transition to bikes after hitting a certain number of check points.
Trail Running Race: 2-hour limit where runners make their way by foot to as many checkpoints as possible.
MTBO Adventure Race: A 2-hour mountain biking challenge where participants navigate to as many check points as possible in the 2 hour limit.
Penalties: 1 point for every 30 seconds for being late back. Therefore, for every 5 minutes you are late back you lose a checkpoint.
The winner is the competitor with the largest number of points, if there is a tie, the winner is the competitor who gained the largest number of points in the quickest time.
