This fun and friendly event takes place in the beautiful countryside of Kent. Runners will wind through the quiet lanes of Staplehurst, over a fast and flat course. It is a great event for runners of all abilities, whether you're an experienced runner looking for a fast time, or those running 5 miles for the first time.
Although there will be minimal traffic on a Sunday morning, please be aware that the roads will not be closed and they may be some cars on the road.

By Car
Staplehurst Cricket Club is situated 10 miles south of Maidstone and can be accessed from the A229.
Parking
Parking will be on the cricket outfield right next to race HQ. Should additional parking be required the parking attendants will direct you.
By Train
Staplehurst station is 1 mile from Event HQ, which would take around 20 minutes to walk. Alternatively, ride the number 5 bus (towards Maidstone) from Pinnock Lane, alighting at the stop named Station Approach. Event HQ is a one minute walk away from there.

The race briefing will take place inside the Cricket Club, everyone will then walk to the start together.
Race Pack
All race numbers and timing chips are to be picked up from Race HQ on the day of the race.
Age Requirements
All entrants must be 15 years or older to enter.
Warm Up
There will be plenty of room on race day to warm up, either in the club grounds or using the surrounding fields.
Headphones
Please note that, under Uk Athletics rules, headphones/earphones will not be allowed to be worn during the race. Although traffic is very light on a Sunday morning, this is not a traffic-free course, meaning all entrants should keep vigilant of cars.
Results
This event is chip-timed. All results will be published to the NE Timing website after the event ends.
Water Stations
There will be water stations at approximately 2.5 miles as well as at the finish line.
Can I wear headphones for The Mid Kent 5?
Unfortunately not, UK Athletics rules state that no headphones are allowed.

What prizes are on offer for the The Mid Kent 5?
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third male and female. There will also be a trophy for the first male and female finisher in each of the following age categories - Junior, Senior, V35, V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, V65, V70, V75+. There will also be spot prizes awarded to competitors who achieve a finishing time closest to those pre-set by the race committee.

All race numbers and timing chips are to be picked up from Race HQ on the day of the race. You will not receive anything in the post.

This was my first time doing the race, it came recommended by some friends in my running club. All very well organised, friendly marshalls and volunteers. Although the best one was the person hosing us down at the end, thanks again to him!!!!!Friendly atmosphere. Thankyou X

Very well organised, very clear and well marked route. Thought the facilities were excellent. Would definitely recommend this event and it will be one I do again.

Always a great race and today they put on an extra water stop as it was so hot. Also, topping up with water when you were standing around after the finish. Excellent race ❤️❤️

This was my first 5 miler and it did not disappoint! The course, organisation, Marshall’s and medals were all spot on. This made for a great atmosphere and I will definitely be signing up for next year!
