Starting in Centre Square, outside the Town Hall and MIMA gallery, the road closed course heads out through Albert Park, passing the home of Middlesbrough FC at Riverside Stadium, before looping around the docks to finish back in Centre Square. This is a flat and fast route, making it perfect for a PB or a first half marathon.

I did the run with my nephew Alex and we both found the course and atmosphere to be exciting and exhilarating.

The regimented start was brilliant. The enthusiasm of the marshals was phenomenal. The course round Boro was what it was!!! The drinks stations were a disgrace to the environment, in plastic waste and litter, and need rethinking. The finish was excellent, with a long, visible , straight run in across the line.

Absolutely loved this event. Very well organised. Would definitely do this event again next year.

Great course. It’s a definitely a PB course. Water stops were in the correct places. Enjoyed it and will be entering next year. 

A good run for proper runners. Well looked after by the organisers.

Really enjoyed it. Good route, decent time of year - cool and fresh, just right for running, good time of day to start the race as well. Good advert for the town

I felt it was very well organised. Lovely friendly volunteers.

The course was fast!!! Everyone I know got a pb including myself. I enjoyed this way more than GNR as it was easier to get to, parking was easy, there were less people and it was way more organised and more simple to get in the correct running group based on finish time. I feel the course could take in some of the nicer areas of Middlesbrough, but after getting a good time, I would take the flat course over the nice sites. I will definitely be in for next years event and I think it will replace my GNR run.

Well run, great atmosphere, memorable experience. Great for the north east! 

An overall great experience. Some of the course was very quiet with no spectator support. Giving the marshals in these areas some music maybe would have been a nice touch. (The marshals did look quite fed up too!) 

Definitely needed portaloos on the course. There was opportunity once out of the residential areas. Some music around the route would have been nice. Route needed extended through more residential areas for support. 

It was a really flat course till around 6 miles. Then there were a few steep climbs that I wasn’t prepared for. Overall a really good experience 

Fully enjoyed the half marathon great route for PBs and a excellent atmosphere.

First section of the route was good, last section after Riverside in the Industrial  was just sould destroying 2 mile ish out and back which was crappie and ugly factories and warehouses. Not what you need again the end of a long race

Well organised at the start and finish . Good finishing straight too 

I did enjoy it and the encouragement was great. Would definitely do it again. Some toilets on the route would be good. Sorry if I did miss these. 

Hi the run was ok.... it was the cars on marton road 5 of them two taxis nearly hit os.. over the boader a white van was 6 ins from my face i would not move Kirsty pacer for 3hours pulled me off the road.. 

Fantastic event. Will do it again in the future if another half marathon is taking place

Decent event, managed PB so good flat course. Not much to see 

Maybe think about reversing the course next year. So all of the hills and desolate areas are at the start and you finish on a flatter area with more support? 

I have done many races over the years, this was one of the lost organised events I have had the pleasure to be part of. Road closures to a minimum, start and finish area and information provided well done.

Well organised event, hopefully it is made an annual event. Good atmosphere, personally thought the last 2/3 mile would have been better in a spectator friendly area. The route in reverse may have been better for spectators. 

I did enjoy it. Great start and finish areas. I thought you could have used Albert Park for part of the race.

Half Marathon runner - Circular route worked very well for ease of parking, transport and bag drop off. Thank you to the organisers, marshals and all other volunteers. Bag drop off was very efficient. The MC did a sterling job, it can’t be  easy to keep talking for so many hours! Goodies at the end were OK, an obvious omission from nuun hydration! Looking forward to next years race and a new PB! Thank you to all involved!

Needs some kind of entertainment in the industrial parts to make up for the lack of people cheering on the runners. 

A well organised event that had a great atmosphere and quick, flat course. It was a very enjoyable half marathon and I will definitely sign up again next year!

Really good course, especially for my first marathon. Atmosphere was good throughout and I'm definitely going to come back next year. I would like to see more food stalls in the village next year to make it even more of an event!

My first ever half marathon! I used the course as a training run for Manchester Marathon in April and I was really impressed with how smoothly the race went! I really hope it becomes an annual race. 

The Marshalls were so happy and friendly, water points at perfect places and the atmosphere was brilliant especially around Linthorpe and Acklam 

Really well organised, everything was simple to find and the number collection and bag drop was plain sailing. Loads of portaloos at the start. A fantastic flat course and a lovely chunky medal. I’ll definitely be back next year 😊

Great course, we'll organised, plenty of parking and toilets. This year our club had five runners there, next time you’ll get ten times that number based on everyone getting PBs today! 

Enjoy this brand new half marathon event in the heart of Middlesbrough City Centre. The flat closed road route takes you through Albert Park, passing the home of Middlesbrough FC, before looping around the docks. The bespoke finisher medal isn't one to miss out on.
