Welcome to The GIRO’s very own Sportive, the aptly named ‘Midland Monster.’There are a number of rides to choose from again this year, including the new Mega Monster – a 140 mile challenge that takes the riders through the incredible scenery of the Peak District, Derbyshire Dales and Staffordshire countryside.We still have the original to Midland Monster – 104 miles, Mezzo Monster – 74 miles, Mini Monster – 40 miles and for the 2nd year, the Family ride of 5-10 miles.

Route information
The routes represent a good challenge for all abilities, offering the testing but stunning beauty of the Derbyshire Peaks and Dales as well as the delights of tranquil Staffordshire lanes.
For the benefit of all cyclists, the first 15 miles of the routes are marshalled as riders become accustomed to following over 300 directional arrows and cautionary signs displayed around the whole circuit. Motorcycle marshals will also be on hand to assist with any mechanical issues and feed stations will be available every 35 miles as well as refreshments waiting at the finish.
