Push yourself with the MK marathon weekend. Great for novice and experienced runners alike, there is a race for everyone. Come to take part in the buzzing Rocket 5k or go the extra distance and take on the full marathon.

Rocket 5k

  • Perfect for those looking to experience the buzz of a marathon weekend without having to cover all the distance
  • Age 13+ on race day

Superhero Fun Run

  • This is a superb event for runners or walkers of all abilities.
  • The race is 1.5 miles on traffic free closed roads
  • The finish line will be inside the famous football stadium
  • A superhero costume is a must

Half Marathon

  • A scenic and very popular event.
  • The route is begins on Saxon Street and winds its way through the town.
  • Runners will finish inside the stadium to raucous applause
  • Age 17+


  • Ranked as one of the best marathons in the UK
  • The route is very green and scenic.
  • Runners will be pass through beautiful lakes and parks, quaint villages as well as along the canal towpath
  • As with all other races, the marathon finishes inside the stadium
  • Age 18+

Race Packs

Race packs, which include your race number/luggage tag/timing chip and final instructions will be sent to you at least two weeks before the race if you enter before 31st March @11:59pm.

All entries after this date must be collected from the Registration Desk just inside gate 6 of the Arena.

Please note that race numbers will not be sent out for the Rocket 5k.You will receive an email shortly before the event instructing you how to collect your race number.

If you receive your race pack in the post then you are ready to run! Just pin on your number and go to the start.


This is a fantastic event for spectators and the atmosphere is always immense.

Inside the stadium there will be plenty of activities for families including bouncy castles and facepainting.

Entry to the stadium is free for spectators and they can come and go as they please.


Thousands of runners come to take part in the event every year and need your support.

Volunteers are needed to act as course marshals, to assist with the start and finish and to help with wrapping up festival activities.

How does the race start work?

  • All competitors are issued with a colour coded race number that reflects their estimated finish time.
  • Before the race, runners should go to their allocated colour zone.
  • This will mean runners are not forced to start too quickly or slowly

What refreshments are provided en route?

  • Yes, there are plenty of water and aid stations en route.
  • For the marathon water bottles will be available at mile 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24 and the finish. There will be Orange Isotonic sports drinks at mile 9,15 and 21and High5 energy gel’s (may contain caffeine) will be available at mile 12 and 18.
  • For the half marathon, water bottles will be available at approximately mile: 3, 6, 9, 12 and the finish. Orange Isotonic sports drink in cups will be available at mile 9.

Will there be pacers available?

  • Half Marathon every 5 minutes from 1:30 to 2:15
  • Full Marathon every 15 minutes from 3:00 to 5:15

Is there a cut off on finishing the race?

  • Rocket 5K – 45 minutes.
  • Half Marathon time limit for the race is three and a quarter hours.
  • Marathon time limit for the race is six and a half hours.
  • After these times, it cannot be guaranteed that marshals, medical cover, drinks stations and road closures will be in place.
  • Stadium MK will close at 5pm prompt.

What time does the stadium open?

The stadium will open at 8am

 Is there anywhere to leave my bags while I’m running?

There will be a secure baggage area in the stadium arena. Make sure you securely attach the label to your bag.

 Are there showers and changing facilities?

Unfortunately there are no showers but there are changing facilities.

Are toilets available on the course?

Yes, at every water stop
