The Rocket 5k is the perfect race for those looking to experience the buzz of a marathon weekend without having to cover all the distance. Enjoy an out and back course along closed-roads.
Superhero Fun Run
Don your best superhero costume in this 1.5 mile traffic-free run, designed for runners or walkers of all abilities. Enjoy the famous football stadium finish line after you fly around the course.
This scenic and wildly popular Half Marathon starts at Saxon Street and follows closed-roads all the way around town. Runners will finish inside the stadium to raucous applause.
The main event, and voted one of the best Marathons in the UK, runners will love this scenic and green route around the closed-roads of Milton Keynes. Runners will pass beautiful lakes, quaint villages, and canal towpaths, and finishes with the iconic stadium finish.

How to get there

There is parking at the stadium available for purchase. Those who have purchased parking should enter via Grafton Street, MK1 1ST.
If you wish to book parking please visit https:/mkmarathon.com/travel-parking/
If you are unsuccessful booking stadium parking, there is parking available in the surrounding industrial areas. Please do not park in nearby retail and trade parking areas.
The nearest train station is Fenny Station, just over a mile away from the stadium.
There is also Bletchley Station which is around 2 miles from the stadium. It is recommended that you book a taxi in advance to avoid walking the 35-40 minutes to the stadium. Bletchley Station is serviced by trains from London Euston and Birmingham New Street.
Hackney carriages charge a fixed fee of £9 from central Milton Keynes station to the stadium. Otherwise licensed private hire companies are available but prices will vary.

Event day logistics

There will be cut-off times in place at the event:
- Rocket 5k - 45 mins
- Half Marathon - 3 hours and 30 mins
- Marathon & Relay - 7 hours
If a marathon runner doesn’t reach the Mile 21 water stop by 3:30pm they will be asked to withdraw from the race, and the Stadium MK will close at 5pm prompt.
Race packs will be sent out in the post at least 2 weeks before the event.
If your pack does not arrive in time please let the organiser know and a replacement bib can be arranged for pick-up on the day. You will need to collect this from the Information Desk, which is located in the Home Supporters ticket window, outside the stadium near Gate 5.
More detailed information on race day logistics will be available in the race guide provided by the event organiser.
Entrants must be the following ages to enter each distance:
- Superhero Fun Run - all ages
- Rocket 5k - 13 and older
- Half Marathon - 17 and older
- Marathon - 18 and older
There will be prizes for the 1st male, 1st female, and 1st Mixed team (at least one lady).
Fancy dress is more than encouraged, but please ensure it is comfortable to run in and will not hinder those around you.
There will be water on each route at the following points:
- 5k will have bottled water at the finish line
- The Half Marathon will have water at mile 3, 6, 9, 12, and the finish. Orange sports drinks will be available at mile 9
- The Marathon will have water at 3 mile intervals and the finish. Orange sports drinks will be available at mile 9, 15, and 21, and High5 Gel's will be available at miles 12 & 18
There will be pacers available at the event at the following intervals:
- Half Marathon every 5 minutes from 1:30 to 2:15 plus 2:30 and 2:45
- Full Marathon every 15 minutes from 3:00 to 5:15 plus 5:30
There will be first aid points at Mile 7, 16, and 24 for the Marathon, and Mile 7 and 9 for the Half Marathon.
Teams of 4 are welcome to take on the Marathon in parts. Each team member will tackle different sections of the course at the following changeover points:
- 6.2 miles
- 13.1 miles
- 20 miles
Teams can nominate a team driver or take it in turns to drive your vehicle around the course. The timing chip will be in baton which your team must pass around in order for your time to count.
The events spectator policy has yet to be determined and will be confirmed closer to the event date.
What are the age requirements to enter the Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend?
Runners must be 18 and over on race day for the Marathon, 17 and over for the Half Marathon and Marathon Relay, 13 and over for the MK Rocket 5k, and can be any age for the Superhero Fun Run.
When will I receive my race pack and race number for the Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend?
Race packs including race numbers will be sent out at least 2 weeks before the event.
Will there be shower or changing facilities at the Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend?
There will be no showers and limited changing facilities.
Will there be refreshment stations on the courses at the Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend?
There will be bottle refill stations but please be self sufficient and bring whatever food and drink you might need during the race.
Is there somewhere I can leave my bag while I run at the Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend?
Yes, there will be a secure bag drop at the event. More detailed information will be available in the race guide.
Are dogs allowed in the stadium at the Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend?
No, unfortunately dogs are not permitted in the stadium.
Will there be toilets at the Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend?
Yes, there will be portable toilets at every water stop along the route.
Can I take part in a wheelchair at the Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend?
Unfortunately the event is not suited for wheelchair users.
Can I wear headphones at the Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend?
Only bone conductor headphones are permitted at the event, all other types are strictly prohibited.
Is there a sports massage at the finish?
Yes, there will be sports massages available for a small fee.
