A race designed by women for women!
This run has been designed with you in mind, and will challenge you in all the right places. We have asked you what you wanted from previous years and we continue to deliver. This 10K event brings you into the beautiful countryside that Newry and Mourne has to offer, whilst keeping you running or walking entirely on tarmac and on an ever-decreasing gradient. What more could you ask for?
The start point of this route is located just past an area known locally as “Leitrim Lodge”, which is located between Rostrevor and Hilltown. After a short uphill section at the start, the route continues past “Santa’s Cottage” before following a downhill route in the direction of Rostrevor, passing Batts Wall and Yellow Water. On nearing Rostrevor, the route turns left off the Newtown Road, up a small hill and onto the forest drive through Kilbroney Park for the final stretch. The race finishes in the same fantastic location as the Mourne Way Marathon events in Kilbroney Park.
This route is an Athletics Northern Ireland Certified distance course. The course elevation profile can be viewed here: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/172565599
