Entrants must be the following ages on race day to enter each event: 18 and over for the Marathon, 17 and over for the Half Marathon, 15 and over for the 10k, and 11 and over for the 5k. Route description
All routes will start and finish from New Park Showground and wind through the heart of the New Forest National Park.
The multi-terrain courses offer some of the most scenic running experiences in the country, with a blend of forest enclosures, open roads, far reaching views and of course, the famous New Forest ponies!
The 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon are mostly flat with a mixture of gravel, some small trail sections, and tarmac roads. The Marathon will be one loop, with a mostly flat first section, and transitions to slightly undulating along the second half.

Race Packs
All race packs will be sent out in the post to entrants approximately 2 weeks before the event date to ensure they arrive in plenty of time for the event.
NB: Please ensure your registered address is your correct address as this is where your race packs will be sent.
Due to the changing restrictions surrounding COVID-19, the organiser has yet to confirm whether or not spectators and dogs will be able to attend the race village. This will be determined closer to the time.
Whether you are a member of our Race Crew, or a local group; volunteering at the New Forest Marathon is a great thing to do. It is so inspiring seeing so many people achieve personal goals in such stunning surroundings. By helping to run this special and unique event, you will allow many fantastic groups, organisations and local good causes to benefit via the New Forest Marathon Community Fund.
On the day please bring plenty of big smiles and buckets of enthusiasm for everyone taking part, from the juniors running 1.5k to those completing the 26.2 miles through the forest everyone needs encouragement.

For the quickest route, participants are encouraged to use the directions below and not the A337 from Cadnam to Lyndhurst.
From East (London, Winchester, Southampton)
- Leave the M3 at junction 13 joining the M27 signposted West.
- Leave M27 at Junction 2 and take the A326
- At signaled junction take A35 to Lyndhurst
- At Lyndhurst bear left to Brockenhurst (A35)
- Keep in left hand lane and continue forward onto Gosport Lane A337 signposted Lymington
- Continue forward for 3km and the Showground is on your right
From West (Dorchester, Weymouth, Bournemouth, Poole)
- Follow A31 signposted Ringwood and then Southampton
- Branch left off the A31 just before joining the M27 signposted Lyndhurst
- At roundabout take 3rd exit, still on the A31 signposted Cadnam
- At roundabout take 2nd exit onto the A336 signposted Totton, Netley Marsh
- Continue to Netley Marsh
- Turn right onto the A326
- At signaled Junction take the A35 to Lyndhurst
- At Lyndhurst bear left to Brockenhurst (A35)
- Keep in left hand lane and continue forward onto Gosport Lane A337 signposted Lymington
- Continue forward for 3km and the Showground is on your right
By Rail
There are regular trains from London, Bournemouth, Southampton and Lymington to Brockenhurst station.
By Bus
There are regular services from Bournemouth, Southampton and Lymington.
By Bicycle
Anyone wishing to travel to New Park Farm Showground by bicycle can do so.
