Route information
Terrain: Tarmac

Route Type: Loop
This course is infamously fast and, when combined with its unique setting, makes for a brilliant place to set your next PB. The looped nature of the course means spectators will have a few chances to catch family and friends as they fly around the track.
The course will be a lapped route of the paths/ roads within Newbury Racecourse rather than on the grass. The final stretch will you bring you to that famous chequered flag for your photo finish.

By Public Transport
Newbury Racecourse has its very own train station aptly named "Newbury Racecourse Station" located just one stop down from Newbury Station. With direct trains from London Paddington and regular connections from the West, travel should be straightforward.
By Car
The racecourse is clearly signposted and just minutes from Junctions 12 and 13 of the M4. It is also easily accessible from the M3.
By Bicycle/ Foot
The racecourse is also easily accessible by foot and bicycle, and plenty of space to park your bike.
Event day logistics
10:00 Half Marathon starts
11:00 5k & 10k start
13:00 Event finishes
*Please arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of the race to allow enough time to register, set up your transition area and warm-up.
Race Packs
Race Packs must be collected on the day of the event, before the start of your race, from registration. Please be aware that you will not receive anything in the post.
Bag Drop
There will be a secure area where bags can be left, though it is recommended that you bring as little baggage as possible. Your bag tag is attached to your race number which you can tear off and attach to your bag.
Age Requirements
Runners for the 5k must be aged 11 or over, runners for the 10k must be aged 15 or over and half marathon runners must be aged 17 or over.
There will be water stations after every lap, at the 5k point of the race as well as at the finish where flapjacks and bananas will be waiting for finishers.
It is not recommended that you wear headphones during the race so you stay alert to what is going on around you and hear the encouragement from marshals. There will also be pedestrians on the paths you'll be running who you'll need to be aware of.

Spectators are strongly encouraged to come along, as they are integral to creating a supportive and energetic atmosphere for the runners. The course is also lapped meaning spectators will be able to see runners on multiple occasions.

Yes, the 5k is open to runners aged 11 and over, the 10k open to runners aged 15 and over and the Half Marathon is open to runners aged 17 and over.

Did the race in 2021
The event was well organized stewards were excellent, really enjoyed the race. Would have preferred to have done 5 laps of the race course than through all the outside in and out paths 4 times. The medal was decent but the goody bag was non existent.
