Always enjoy Tri Max events, fun and well organised. First time doing pool swim, great strategy if people followed pool etiquette to let people pass (not the organisers fault). Nice transition area with plenty of space. Ride was out in lovely countryside quickly. Well marked and marshals in the right places and good direction whether needed to stop or keep going at junctions. Run was lovely along the coastal path section. Would it be possible for Olympic distance to keep going further and do single out and back? Whole course flat which provides a great challenge to sustain power and speed for a long period especially on the bike.

1. There were not enough Marshals on the bike course (2 in total) and none on a dangerous junction. There were no Marshals at all on the run course.2. The results still haven’t been published some 14 hours after the event.3. There was no finishers T-shirt despite it costing £50 to enter.

Awful experience. Poor marshalling on course, poor signage also so meant if you weren’t from the area you wouldn’t know where you were going. Gentleman in charge is rude and also the timing seems well off in comparison to strava data all us athletes have. Would not recommend to any athlete.

Great course and a fun atmosphere, I will be recommending it to others. My numbers were mixed up at the start though and I had to ask them to give me the correct race number, 141 not 147. I hope the timing chip was the correct one!

The whole event was poorly organised. This was my first triathlon which I entered to celebrate surviving cancer 2 months ago & having supported numerous triathlons with my club (as club ambassador, activator & committee member) I was surprised At the lack of organisation. The swim for the sprint started whilst there were still numerous swimmers left in the pool from the previous race (Olympic) so lots of time was wasted trying to overtake people doing grandma-style breastroke. There was a Marshall leading out to the main road & one Marshall on the turnaround point, but nobody else which was poor as not all the directions were clear. There were no Marshall’s at all on the run & at several points there was nobody in front or behind me so I assumed I’d taken a wrong turn. The frurnarojnd point at half way on the run was also not obvious as athletes had been touching it when turning so the sign was facing the wrong way. Very poor, doesn’t take much to get a few people to stand on a run course. Then the mixup at the end with everyone’s results & people who had lost their chip being given first place when they clearly hadn’t got 1st place. I would not recommend this race to anyone else unless the whole set up is changed.
