I'm a fairly new runner, so I knew that any run in Lyme Park was going to be tough. It was harder than I expected, though I'm not quite sure my expectation was realistic given the hilly nature of the park. However, the event was really well organised, I felt safe the whole time, plenty of marshals around to assist when required. The route was tougher than I thought it would be, incoroprating quite a selection of steep climbs. Some bits were quite slippy especially since they forgot to stop the rain for some of the run, but there was always a marshal on hand to warn you when you needed to be extra careful. The best bit of the run was definitely the last 1.5k. You've basically gone straight up practically vertically for 5k, and it's a lovely enjoyable downhill back to the hall, where you can get up some decent speed.Overall, a very rewarding run, though maybe do some hill training first!

Love this event have done it for the past 4 years. Its a really good challenging course around Lyme Park and with it being done at night adds a real twist to a normal run. Theres always lots of glow sticks and reflective paint to use to make you light up the night and the soup afterwards is always spot on. Just a really enjoyable friendly run at a awesome price keep me coming back every year.
