Route information
The vast majority of the course will be run on challenging, technical dirt trails. Both the half marathon and 8k course will include steep hills. Hiking/trekking poles are permitted at this venue.
All courses will be marked with colored surveyor ribbon, placed approximately every 200 meters along the course. Turns are marked heavily on the inside of the turn, with 3 ribbons placed just before and just after the intersection.
There will also be 8.5″ x 11″ laminated signs and flour arrows on the ground (when allowed) at critical or complicated sections.
The most important course marking is the blue ribbon. Blue ribbons indicate “wrong way” trails. You will see blue ribbons, but do not run past a blue ribbon or you will be heading off course.

Yes, listening to a device is condoned as long as you remain aware of your surroundings. It is recommend to only use one earpiece or to keep the volume low enough so you can hear the sounds of the environment, such as runners coming from behind or hikers up ahead.
Can I run the No Hands races with my dog?
No, unfortunately due to current COVID-19 restrictions, dogs will not be permitted on the race course. They are, however, allowed at Overlook Park and within the Auburn State Recreation Area.
