Route information
Half Marathon
A beautiful 13.1 mile route taking in the architecture, history and culture of Britain’s largest town. Elevation is +470 Ft. There is a cut-off time of 3 hours for this race. There will be 4 aid stations providing water in recyclable paper cups.
  • 2.7 miles – Northampton Town Football Club
  • 5.3 miles – The Racecourse
  • 8.7 miles – Abington Bowling Club
  • 11 miles – The University of Northampton
Half Marathon Relay
The Half Marathon Relay course consists of 3 different stages:
  • Stage 1 – Start to Franklins Gardens Rugby Stadium (4.1 miles approx.) please click here for the walking route back to the finish – (1.2 miles)
  • Stage 2 – Franklins Gardens Rugby Stadium (1.2 miles from the start, see link above) to the Abington Park Museum Entrance (4.4 miles approx.) please click here for the walking route back to the finish (1.5 miles)
  • Stage 3 – Abington Park Museum Entrance (1.5 miles from the start please see link above) to the Finish (4.6 miles approx.)
3 Mile Race
If you're not up to the Half Marathon just yet, join for a lovely 3 Miler, which will take in many of the great sights of the HM course.

By Car
Northampton is a 1-hour drive from Birmingham via the M6 and M1 or the A45, and a 46-minute drive from Coventry via the M1. It is also easily accessible from Milton Keynes and Luton via the M1.
Parking
The race will start and finish in Abington Street (outside of the Grosvenor Center, NN1 2AN). There are over 2000 car parking spaces in the town centre, click hereExternalLink to find out more. The Ridings Car park will not be accessible on race day. If you park for longer than two hours on a Sunday then parking charges apply. Please ensure that you have card or cash for this.
There will be representatives from the Town Centre BID to guide you around the town centre and answer any questions you might have.
If you are parking in the Victoria Promenade end of town, you must use Kingswell Street to get to registration and not Bridge Street.
By Train
The closest train station is Northampton and only a 12-minute walk from the start line. Northampton Station has regular services to London Euston via Milton Keynes Central and Birmingham New Street via Coventry.

Registration will be based at the Event HQ in Market Square.
Age Requirements
  • Half Marathon and Relay: Entrants must be 17 and older to enter
  • 3 Mile race: Entrants must be 5 years and older to enter - children must be accompanied by an adult
Half Marathon Relay
For the Half Marathon Relay, there are 3 stages where participants must hand over to another member of their team, the starting locations for each stage for the relay is listed below.
  • Stage 1 – Start to Franklins Gardens Rugby Stadium (4.1 miles approx.) please click here for the walking route back to the finish – (1.2 miles)
  • Stage 2 – Franklins Gardens Rugby Stadium (1.2 miles from the start, see link above) to the Abington Park Museum Entrance (4.4 miles approx.) please click here for the walking route back to the finish (1.5 miles)
  • Stage 3 – Abington Park Museum Entrance (1.5 miles from the start please see link above) to the Finish (4.6 miles approx.)
Bag Drop
There will be an area to leave very small bags at the hotel, please note all baggage left unsupervised is left at your personal risk.
Pacers
There will be pacers during the event to help you get your target time.
Toilets / Changing Facilities
There will be toilets available in the pub at the start of the race. There will also be portable toilets in front of the Guildhall and in Delapre Abbey after the race. There will be some changing facilities but access will be limited.
Headphones
Entrants must not wear in-ear headphones, bone conduction headphones are permitted but make sure to keep the volume low so you can communicate with fellow runners and enjoy the spirit of the day.
Aid Stations
There will be 4 aid stations on the half marathon course - 2.5 miles – Sixfields Car Park entrance; 5.3 miles – The Racecourse; 7.7 miles – Park Avenue South; 10.5 miles – The Arc , Midsummer Meadow.
