The first section of the race will cover a 4.3k loop around the track, make sure to keep some energy in the legs as you climb towards the pit lane to transition to the bike. Runners, must stay on the inside lane of the track (right hand side). This run lane will be marked with cones to assist you.
Once on the bike, enjoy the winding smooth tarmac roads as you clip along comfortably for a few laps before another lap of the track on foot. When on the bike make sure to keep on the outside / left hand side of the track as there will be runners on the course at this time. This sprint race is perfect for all athletes looking for an end of season tuneup or to try out a duathlon for the first time. This race is non drafting so beware.
The standard race is very similar to the sprint duathlon, it just covers more of a distance. During the first run, expect to be traversing the course in two loops, covering a distance of 8.6k. Then jump on the bike for a 9 lap push towards the final 4.3k run.
