Oulton Park Half Marathon & 10k routes

The map shows the course details. The course length has been officially measured by a member of the British Association of Course Measurers, and the event is licensed by UK Athletics.
For the 10k event, you will need to do just under 3 laps and for the half marathon you will need to complete 6 laps of the track. There will be a marker post at the end of each lap to confirm the distance covered, but it is your responsibility to complete the correct number of laps and you will need to plan for how to do this. At the end of your 3rd or 6th lap (10k or half marathon respectively) you need to run to the finish down the pit lane

FAQs
  1. No dogs are permitted onsite at Oulton Park under any circumstances – this restriction also applies to spectator areas and car parks. If you have brought a dog onto the property, you will be asked to remove the dog from the property immediately.
  2. There are some changing rooms in the ‘scrutineering toilets’ at the far end of the car park, however, we recommend you arrive wearing your race kit.
  3. Baggage storage (which will be manned) is available in the pit garages adjacent to the racetrack; there is a tear off the label on your race number which can be fixed to any bag that you wish to leave. The baggage area opens at 08:30 and will close at 16:00. Please collect any left items by this time.
  4. There are toilet facilities inside the Chequers restaurant and there are also toilets outside the pit garages in the main car park.
  5. All photos from the event are absolutely free for download. You can enter your race number or surname and all photos of you that you are tagged in will appear on the screen. The images will be of high quality to print up to A4 size. Our official photographer is Tim Waterworth Photography. Race photographs will be available to view after the event from the photographs link on the Xtra Mile Events homepage.
  6. First aid provision will be in attendance at this event. There will be a first aid point next to the finish line and a mobile ambulance on course.
  7. There is a water station on the course (see the map). This will be stocked with water only. Refreshments are also available at the end of the event.
  8. In the interest of safety we advise you to wear any earphones in one ear only and be aware of others approaching behind you, eg the lead runner cycle (half marathon), medics and course officials. Open ear headphones can be worn.

Great a PB at that distance :)
  • Did the 13 1 Miles in 2018

Some powerful uplifting music in your ears will get you through this course. Very well organised run fab bling & t shirt past 2 years done this for my birthday. Hill training will help you massively. Bring friends & family to cheer you on the course. Really gives you a boost. Ill be back again next year even though I said those 2 words at the end "never again" lol.
  • Did the 13 1 Miles in 2018

It was a good race. Maybe got a bit boring on the 5 or 6th lap but that's to be expected when running a race track. Knew what to expect from going to previous motorsport events at Oulton Park even so, the hill out of Knickerbrook was still a surprise! Save something in the tank for the last sprint round the corner and up deer leap for the finish.
  • Did the 13 1 Miles in 2018

The race was fun and great for those looking for a PB. I'd recommend going faster at the start of each lap as it's flat/declined.
  • Did the 13 1 Miles in 2018

Really great race. Nice weather (for Feb). Course is not flat, but surface is smooth and spacious so makes for a fast run. Highly recommended. Would be nice to have a few more people on the course, and to have the numbers mailed out in advance, excepting that almost perfect
  • Did the 13 1 Miles in 2018

Brilliantly organised but be prepared mentally for 6 laps & a couple of unexpected hills - 6 times! Great to run on such a good road surface though - I got a massive PB. Good cafe and little park for kids so families can come and support
  • Did the 13 1 Miles in 2018

Great day out, stuck with the 1:30 pacer this year and not only took 2:30 minutes off last years time but also 60 seconds off my pb. Knowing the course in advance also helped. I brought my son this year and he ran his first ever 10km (he's 15yrs old) in an impressive sub 41 minutes. His words in the car on the way home 'when we come back next year...' A tough, demanding but really enjoyable course and day out. Topped off with very friendly officials, runners and supporters.
  • Did the 13 1 Miles in 2018

Would have been better if spectators could be round all the course rather than just the end
