Route information
The finale of the Outlaw season, Outlaw Half Thoresby Weekend (formerly Outlaw X) has something for everyone with Sprint, Middle Distance and Kids events. It’s all set against the back drop of the north Nottinghamshire countryside and the magical grounds of Thoresby Park. Onsite camping is available, so it’s a great way to close the summer season with friends and family.
Saturday will host the Outlaw Sprint Thoresby, a short course event which begins in the private lake and passes through Clumber Park before returning to Thoresby and finishing in front of the Hall. Younger athletes can take part in the Future Outlaw running events.
On Sunday, we have Outlaw Half Thoresby, a middle-distance triathlon that is ideal for both novice and experienced triathletes. 2024 also introduces a NEW Aquabike event that will take place along with Outlaw Half Thoresby. This is a fantastic addition to the Outlaw series for those who prefer a run-free format. Both our triathlons offer a 2 or 3 person relay option, so you can take part with friends or family, each person doing a different leg and coming together to cross the finishing line.
Outlaw Half Thoresby Triathlon
1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run
The 1.2 mile swim starts with a time trial format and takes place in the private lake within the historic Thoresby Park before athletes move on to a spectacular 56mile ride through the north Nottinghamshire countryside. The course is road or TT bike friendly, with plenty of fast sections. The event concludes with an epic 13.1mile run through 1000 acres of unspoilt English countryside within the grounds of the historic Park before finishing in front of the Hall. Up to 2 family members or friends can join you to celebrate your finish. This event can be done as an individual or join with friends and complete it as a 2 or 3 person Relay

Outlaw Half Thoresby Aquabike
1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike
This event follows the same swim and bike route as the Outlaw Half Thoresby triathlon. However, you will head to the finish after your bike leg. This will be a different finish to the main grandstand finish due to the race route logistics. The 1.2 mile swim starts with a time trial format and takes place in the private lake within the historic Thoresby Park before athletes move on to a spectacular 56mile ride through the north Nottinghamshire countryside. The course is road or TT bike friendly, with plenty of fast sections. Once you return to the Estate, you will finish your race and can collect your finishers medal and t-shirt before enjoying a well-earned rest.
Aquabike is ideal for those who want to challenge themselves and enjoy the Outlaw experience, but either don't want to or find themselves unable to run.
Minimum Age: 18 by 31 December 2024
Outlaw Sprint Thoresby
750m swim, 19km bike, 5km run
This open water sprint distance triathlon starts with a single lap swim in the private lake of Thoresby Park. After exiting via the pontoon, there’s a run back to transition before heading out onto a rolling bike route which will take you through the beautiful arches of Clumber Park. The event concludes with a mostly flat two lap run around the beautiful woods and farmland of the Estate before hitting the finish carpet in front of Thoresby Hall. It's a great opportunity for novices as well as those looking to test their speed. Tackle it on your own or join with friends to make a Relay team.

Parents are welcome to run with their children if they wish.

- Felt a bit 'budget' compared with other Outlaw events. E.g. Only one bike feed station, no draft-buster motorcyclists, no distance to go markers on the run.- Having a campsite was very convenient, but more showers were needed. - Future Outlaw event was really good.

Seamless to register in advance, plenty of information up-front. Bike course very well marked and really enjoyable. Run route has good feed stations and the 3 lap nature of it was great to soak up the atmosphere. Good food after!!!

I have completed 10 70.3 races now and the home branded races (not IM) have definitely been the best. This is the 3rd time I’ve done Outlaw X and once again the organisation puts the athlete first. Great atmosphere all weekend and great organisation with no issues at all. The support all of the way around the course from all of the outlaw staff was amazing. Like any race you go through tough bits but the staff encouragement definitely pulls you through and inspires you to keep going. The overriding thought from this race was that Outlaw did everything they could to get you through to the finish…Amazing
