Route information
This is a multi-terrain run and you are likely to get your shoes muddy and maybe wet feet on the off road sections. Of course, how muddy it will be depends on the weather conditions between now and the day. I will keep you updated on the course conditions.
Overall, about a quarter of the run is off-road, with the remainder – the vast majority – on tarmac roads. Off-road, the surface you will be covering will be the stadium track, grass around the lake, ie uneven ground for some of the run.
The first 800m will be on the stadium track, then the surface changes to grass round Conningbrook lake until 1.4miles, at which point you cross the new 3.6m wide bridge. Please be careful here, as this maybe slippery. After you have crossed the bridge the surface is a public footpath onto a farm track which is concrete then the following;
- 1.6miles to 4.1miles – tarmac
- 4.1miles to 4.5miles – bridleway
- 4.5miles to 7.8miles – tarmac
- 7.8miles to 8.6miles – bridleway
- 8.6miles to 9.5miles – tarmac
- 9.5miles to 9.9miles – bridleway
- 9.9miles to 11.8miles – tarmac
- 11.8miles to 12.9miles – trail path around Conningbrook lake
Return via the same footbridge and head back to the stadium to finish or continue for your second lap.
- Marathon – 2 laps
- Half Marathon – 1 lap
