Did the race in 2022
Having had a great time a few years ago (pre-COVID) on the original course, we were really looking forward to coming back again and having a great day out.The kids are older and we thought they would be able to really have fun on the obstacle course this time round. The organisation seemed to be pretty good again but the obstacle course was not...The previous site was a good flat circuit with plenty of water obstacles and the children could keep going whilst getting wet and muddy without exhausting themselves on hills etc.But this year there were a lot of small wooden fences to climb over (not very exciting), followed by 2 very steep hill climbs - too steep for the younger children. The nets for them to commando crawl under kept coming out the ground because the stakes wouldn't stay in. There were extremely limited water obstacles and our youngest daughter and her friends bailed out for the 3km course. The final run included a "water / mud slide" which wasn't slippy enough as they couldn't slide down it properly. The picnic site was very open and unprotected from the wind with relatively limited stalls and rides.Sadly the event on the Sunday felt a bit empty and lacking the atmosphere of previous events.Back to the old site and course please!!

Did the race in 2022
It was our first family run and we enjoyed the course. There were some good obstacles but sadly the water slide wasn't being used with water. There could've been more water/mud!We found the day rather expensive. £5 parking, food each £5-£10, ice cream £4each, then they needed tokens which were 5 tokens for £20 for each activity. This all added up to quite an expensive day. The queues were long for each activity although the children enjoyed bouncy castle/climbing wall and caving. The circus tent was a hit and we enjoyed the entertainment. More information of what to expect before would've been useful, change of clothes, general cost of things, good idea to take picnic to enjoy live music. Overall we enjoyed today bit will not do it again as too expensive.
