Who are we supporting?
We are supporting poppy's plea - We are supporting 4 year old Poppy from Whitstable who is battling a rare form of cancer called neurofibromatosis. There is hope for Poppy but this particular operation can only be delivered in America. We appreciate that many of you will have your own charity you support but if you would like help Poppy, who lives not far from the start of the Oysterman course, then there is an option to add a donation to Poppy's Plea when entering the Oysterman Triathlon to help fund lifesaving treatment in the USA. **SWIM CUT OFF
**The sea swim course is tidal and although the swim section will take place during slack water (the time when the water is not coming in or going out) anyone in the water after 25 minutes is more likely to feel the effects of the sea more than those who complete the swim in a short time. For this reason we ask that all participants are prepared properly for the swim. On this note we would recommend that you prepare for a swim length of 750m (although the course is accurately measured at 500m). We reserve the right to direct people back to the shore after 25 minutes for their own safety. There will be 2 (possibly 3) start times for the swim. Your swim start time will be provided in your pre race information sent out 10 days before the event.

BIKE ROUTE

The bike route is on quiet but open roads. We have applied for a temporary road closure around the bike in and bike out section of the course to accommodate the majority of those taking part. The course is relatively flat with small inclines that shouldn’t slow people down that much, making for quite a quick bike course. Each year we focus on areas where we can make the experience even better for participants. In 2019, the bike course will be even easier to follow so that you can focus more on getting those legs spinning.

Great sunrise on your way to check in, really marked sea swim, great cycle course on open roads, a few junctions and roundabouts, beautiful run.

Just a warning. I had my wet suit stolen from transition. Emailed the organisers to report it and heard nothing. Not even an acknowledgment.

Great event in Whitstable. The sea swim is always a bit of a challenge but the bike route can be fast and so is the run, at the exception of the final hill.

Bike course is crap, along a dual carriage way and loop round housing estate when when compared to other options they could have chosen around whitstable (Canterbury loop or Graveny Dargate area).55pound or 60 late is very expensive for a Sprint Tri.
