We're including pre-race briefings, followed by pizza and pasta party to help you start this friendly and sociable race, fueled with energy and prepared.

Taxi / minibus from Stage 2 finish back to Edale will need to be booked in advance as we pay a holding deposit to the company. You will need to indicate an approximate finish time so that we can schedule taxis as much as possible to avoid you waiting too long. A condition of the taxi hire is that racers are wearing clean clothing and footwear (hence you will need a spare set of clothes in your kit bag). The cost per person for this service is £15.

**Friday 23th November
**18:00 – Option A (Full Race) & Option B (Stage 1) racers meet at Edale Village Hall, Event HQ for check in, pre-race briefings, kit check and pasta & pizza party.
**Saturday 24th November
**07:00 – Transport from Edale HQ to Race Start at Ashbourne (included)
08:00 – Stage 1 start
18:00 – Edale HQ open for Option B (Stage 2) racers
22:00 – Stage 1 Edale cut off time
**Sunday 25th November
**08:00 – Stage 2 start from Edale HQ
22:00 – Stage 2 Marsden finish cut off time

What to bring
  • Backpack
  • Waterproof jacket with hood and waterproof over trousers
  • Insulating Hat and Gloves/Mitts.
  • Warm layers appropriate for the weather conditions, minimum is long sleeved fleece
  • Appropriate footwear for mountain/fell running.
  • Hard copy Ordinance Survey type map/s covering the Race Distance (eg OS Explorer 1:25,000 OL24 White Peak, OL1 Dark Peak, OL21 South Pennines)
  • GPS (Optional)
  • Navigation Compass (a mobile phone app or watch compass is not acceptable).
  • Head torch and spare batteries.
  • Hi viz reflective strip and/or back light to be attached to rear of rucksack.
  • Whistle
  • Emergency bivvy bag, foil or polythene survival bag. (note: foil blanket is not acceptable)
  • Unbreakable Mug (for checkpoints, we do not use single use disposable plastic cups)
  • Sufficient fluids and hill food to sustain you for the race.
  • First aid / blister kit plus personal meds.
  • Mobile Phone (fully charged).
  • Walking poles are allowed
  • Kit bag containing: Spare clothing & footwear, Phone Charger, additional Food supply. Plus roll mat and sleeping bag if staying at HQ on Friday / Saturday night.
Notes: This is a minimum compulsory kit list, applicable to all competitors. Participants should pre-review the forecast weather conditions add such items as necessary to keep warm, dry, fed and hydrated whilst on the trail.

Did the Stage 1- White Peak (50K) in 2018
Enjoyed the race. Its very much two halves, first half uphill road run, 2nd half much more off road trails. Well organised and everyone was very helpful

Did the Stage 2 - Dark Peak (43K) in 2018
Not enough social media updating . Nice to get a few updates from RD from day one event. Photos of runners and finishers. Aid stations were positioned as arranged but failed to offer any warm drinks ( maybe they were there but not forthcoming) . Food on sat evening would be best left for day one runners , not advertised as pizza / pasta PARTY. Beautiful course and almost navigation fool proof . Poor finishers medal .
