Terrain Trail
Beginning in the spectacularly scenic village of Malham, this route takes runners through Malham Cove, the Dry Valley of Watlowes, past the glacial lake of Malham Tarn, Fountains Fall, Janet's Foss and the incredible peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
Runners will get to experience the stunning countryside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park as they climb awe-inspiring peaks and take in the amazing views at the top.

  • CP1: 12 Miles - Silverdale Road, approx postcode BD24 9PW
  • CP2: 21 Miles - Ribblehead Viaduct, as runners come up Gauber Road, Crossing Blea Moor Road
  • CP3: 26 Miles - Philpin Farm Campsite, Chapel-le-Dale, LA6 3FH
  • CP4: 34.5 Miles - Horton in Ribblesdale Playing Field, near the Crown Inn, BD24 0HF.
  • CP5: 38 Miles - Silverdale Road, approx postcode BD24 9PW

By Car
Malham is accessible via the A65 between Skipton and Settle. It is a 1 hour, 18 minute drive from Leeds via the A65 and A660.
Parking
Parking can be difficult in Malham as it is a popular destination, so there will be free designated event parking at the Malham Showfield. Participants can arrive and use this parking anytime from 16:00 on the Friday before the race.
By Public Transport
The closest train station to the race start is in Hellifield, which has regular services to Carlisle, Leeds and Morecambe. Malham can be reached from Hellifield Station by taking a 580 bus followed by a 211 bus.
Camping
There is no camping allowed on site. However, the local campsites of Riverside Campsite and Gordale Scar Campsite, which are located near the start/finish of the event, can be used.

Entrants must be 20 years of age or older to participate.
Checkpoints
There are 5 checkpoints on this course, each will have drinks, fruit, and plenty of carbohydrate snacks for all participants to have. The finish line will have soup ready and waiting for you.
Qualifying Criteria
All participants must have run a marathon distance before the event (this can be a training run, virtual or actual race but it is recommended to do a proper race). The marathon must be completed prior to this race.
