This stunning trail marathon will start and finish at the grounds of Simply Fields in Worsthorne.
From Worsthorne, the route will take runners along the idyllic trails of Gorple to Top Withins passing Bronte Waterfall, with a stop through the National Trust park of Hardcastle Crags.

Parking will be available at Simply Fields.
Simply Fields is under a 10 minute drive from Burnley town centre along Harry Potts Way, Brunshaw Road, Red Lees Road and then a left onto Salterford Lane and then Jurstwood Lane.

*Please arrive at least 45-60 minutes before the start of your race to allow plenty of time to park, register, collect your race pack, attach your race number, drop any bags you may have, and warm up.
There will be a bag drop service available at Race HQ. Please note that your belongings are left at your own risk. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to leave any valuables at home or keep them on your person.
Checkpoints and Cut-offs
There will be 4 generous cut off points:
- 1st checkpoint = 5.2 miles / 8.3k - 1 hour 45 minutes (water available)
- 2nd checkpoint = 11 miles / 17.7k - 3 hours 20 minutes (water and food available)
- 3rd checkpoint = 14.4 miles / 23.7k - 4 hours 30 minutes (water available)
- 4th checkpoint = 19.8 miles / 31.8k - 6 hours (water and food available)
What to bring
- Trail shoes are preferable for this course and are required if there has been wet weather leading up to the event.
- Runners will need to carry their own food and water.
What kind of shoes should I wear for the Pennine Trail Marathon?
Trail shoes are preferable for this event and will be required if there has been wet weather in the days leading up to the event. Road shoes will be acceptable if the weather has been dry.
Will there be a bag drop at the Pennine Trail Marathon?
Yes, there will be a place to leave bags at the race HQ. Please note that all items are left at their own risk and valuables should be left in your car or kept on your person.
