Route information
Liven up your December with this scenic run, which follows the River Thames from Walton on Thames towards Hampton Court and back. Brand new this year, this event treats all finishers to a cosy bobble hat and bespoke medal.
This is a timed event, where runners can run a minimum of 5k all the way up to an ultra marathon within the allotted time of 7 hours. Runners complete either 4 or 8 laps for the half marathon or marathon distance. All abilities of runner are welcome!
The route winds along the riverside towpath, so runners will experience off-road trails underfoot. This course has little elevation, making it a flat, fast route perfect for novice runners or experienced athletes looking to achieve a new PB.

The start at Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex is easily accessible by car from Walton-on-Thames and Hampton. The race is around 6 miles from the closest M25 junction.
Parking
Free parking is available a short 5 minute walk from the start line. Details are provided in the final event information which is emailed a week prior to the event.
By Public Transport
The nearest station is Hersham, which has regular services to London Waterloo and Woking. From the train station, participants can catch the 564 bus towards the Xcel Leisure Centre, which will take them directly to race HQ.
Event day logistics
The event will start in the small field just before The Weir Pub on Waterside Drive or on the patio of the Weir Pub depending on the weather. Just look for the Phoenix Running marquee, you can't miss it!

Age Requirements
All runners must be aged 18 or older on the day of the event.
Course Description
Phoenix Running offer two different courses from the Weir in Walton. The 'Blue Bridge' route takes you west along the Thames, passing over the small 'Blue Bridge' before passing under Walton Bridge before returning. The 'Hampton Court' route takes you east along the times in the direction of 'Hampton Court', passing Sunbury Locke on the way before returning. Both courses are along scenic towpaths and have no elevation gain / loss making them both fast and flat routes. The course will be confirmed one week prior to the event and dependent on factors such as planned local events and the weather.
Spectator Info
Spectators are more than welcome! The Weir Pub is located right next to the start and finish line so offers an extremely convenient cheering on point for spectators. The Weir offers cold drinks, hot drinks and food from 11am. There is also a café located at the nearby Xcel Leisure Centre. The Weir offers hotel rooms for those wishing to stay over but please book early as it always sells out.

What do I get included in my entry for the Bobble Wobble Run?
All finishers will get a bespoke medal and bobble hat, as well as parking, a fully marked route and aid stations.
How far do I have to run for the Bobble Wobble Run?
You can run as little as one lap of the route (5.3k) to earn a finisher's medal.
What time does the Bobble Wobble Run start?
The event starts at 08:30, but there is a flexible start time policy, so you can start within a 1 hour window of the start time.
What do you stock at the Aid Station?
Selection of jelly sweets, crisps and pretzels along with Freddos. There is a good chance of cake and, if the weather is hot, ice lollies as well. Vegan options are clearly marked. Water, variety of squash and cola will be available.
How many laps for my distance?
Complete 1 lap and you’re both a finisher and a winner in our eyes! Complete 4 laps for a half marathon distance. Complete 8 laps for a full marathon distance, recognised by the 100 Marathon Club. Complete 9+ laps for an ultra marathon distance.
Toilets and Facilities?
There are toilets in the Weir Pub, which will be open for our use from 8:00am. There are also toilets in the Xcel Leisure Centre that are available from 7:00am.
Can I leave my bag at the aid station?
We have no ‘official’ baggage check in facility; however you can leave small bags and your own items in the grassy area nearby at your own risk – these will be easily accessible to you during and throughout the event.
What is the event cut-off?
The cut-off time is 3:30pm by which time you should be finished running.
