Terrain Gravel paths / Natural paths
Take on this six-hour challenge around the looped course of Holme Pierrepont Country Park and Watersports centre. The course is flat which makes this perfect for a pre-marathon training run, your first event or PB attempt.
Each loop is 5.46k and you choose how many laps you would like to do. The terrain is comprised of gravel pathways through wetlands and along natural paths. Road shoes should be sufficient throughout this course.
Please be aware of the fact that this course will be open to members of the public so take care when running and be considerate of others.

Get full directionsBy Car
The race venue is located east of Nottingham City Centre. As you approach the water centre on Adbolton Lane you’ll come to a split in the road. Here you’ll need to take the left-hand split and follow the signs to Park access. Continuing on this lane you will pass the corner of the boating lake on your right-hand side and shortly after you’ll pass through into the two gravelled car parking areas.
By Train
The nearest train station is Nottingham from there you can take a bus that runs close to the country park. Make sure to check the timetables before booking.
Parking
There will be plenty of parking onsite at a flat rate of £5 for the full day. It is advised to car share where possible.

Age Requirements
Participants must be at least 12 years old on the day of the event.
Time limit
All entrants will have 6 hours to finish the event. You will not be allowed to start another lap less than 20 minutes before the end of the event.
Aid Station
The aid station will be fully stocked with fudge, cakes, cookies, and jelly babies along with savoury alternatives. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink to the aid station as there will be a separate table for these. Ensure they are clearly labelled.
Cup-less race
There will be no cups supplied, you will be required to bring your own water bottle, collapsable cup, or similar at the event.
Toilets
There will be public toilets open from 8am at the boathouse. This is roughly 250m away from the Race HQ at the end of the lake.

Is there a bag drop at the Pierrepont Plod?
There is no secure baggage areas on site, you are welcome to leave you bags at the base camp. There will always be someone around but the organiser cannot guarantee the safety of your bags.
What is the cut-off limit for the Pierrepont Plod?
You will have 6 hours to complete this event and you are completely welcome to run for the whole time or finish beforehand.
What is the terrain like at the Pierrepont Plod?
The course is mainly flat through along gravel pathways with a small amount through the wetlands along natural paths.
