Route information
This brilliant event takes in all the best sights and sounds of Plymouth and the surrounding area. Runners will take in many notable and historic landmarks around Plymouth, and enjoy a buzzing atmosphere throughout.
The course is yet to be confirmed for the 2022 event but it will definitely be worth the wait.
This event is open to runners of all abilities so however fast you are, you can come along and join thousands of others on closed roads and take on this awesome challenge.

There are plenty of local car parking venues that will be available to use:
- Drake's Circus - open from 06:00
- Western Approach
- The Guildhall
- Theatre Royal
- Civic Centre - no height restriction

By Train
Plymouth Station is less than 2 miles from the event HQ.
By Car
Plymstock and Kingsbridge towards the City Centre
The A379 will remain fully open. At the end of Laira Bridge Road, you will be diverted into Embankment Road to Cattedown Roundabout. You will still be able to turn left into Hele Terrace to access The Embankment A374 eastbound. From Cattedown Roundabout you will be able to proceed into Exeter Street or Tothill Road.
- Exeter Street will be down to one lane of traffic from 07:00 – 09:15
- The Viaduct (westbound) will be closed to traffic from 07:00 – 09:15
- Royal Parade (westbound) will be closed to traffic from 07:00 – 09:15
- Union Street to its junction with The Crescent will be closed from 07:00 – 09:15
City Centre to Plymstock and Kingsbridge
Use Exeter Street A374 into Embankment Road and Laira Bridge Road
Plympton to the City Centre
From Plymouth Road join The Parkway A38 and exit at the Manadon Junction and proceed along Outland Road A386 to Alma Road. Then use Western Approach or Cobourg Street. If you use Deep Lane entrance to the A38 continue until The Manadon turns.
Cornwall to the City Centre
Exit the A38 at the Weston Mill Junction A3064 and follow the signage to the City Centre, via Wolseley Road, Alma Road A386 and Saltash Road. Then use Western Approach or Cobourg Street.
City Centre to Cornwall
Western Approach to North Cross Roundabout before proceeding to Alma Road and Outland Road joining The Parkway at Manadon or via Wolseley Road to Weston Mill.
Tavistock to City Centre
Proceed along Tavistock Road A386 and continue to Outland Road and Alma Road
City Centre to Tavistock
Western Approach to North Cross Roundabout before proceeding to Alma Road and Outland Road joining The Parkway at Manadon.
Exeter to City Centre
Exit the A38 at The Manadon Junction and proceed along Outland Road A386 to Alma Road. Then use Western Approach or Cobourg Street.
City Centre to Exeter
Western Approach to North Cross Roundabout before proceeding to Alma Road and Outland Road joining The Parkway at Manadon.
Event day logistics
The Plymouth 10k's start times will be available soon.
Please arrive early, allowing you enough time to get ready for your race.
Cut-off Times
The cut-off time for this race is 90 minutes.
Age Restrictions
You must be at least 15 years old to take part in the race.
Race Pack
Race packs will be posted, the first set will be sent out 4 weeks before the event and the last batch will be sent out 2 weeks from the event date. Your race pack will include:
- Race Number
- Timing Chip
- Athlete information sheet
Please read the information sheet carefully, it provides all the important information and you do not need to register on the day.
If you have not received your race pack please email Daniel@redrockevents.co.uk and they will verify your entry and give you details on how to secure a race pack for race day.
Fancy Dress
Fancy dress is permitted in the race, all entrants are asked to wear appropriate trainers and to ensure they are hydrated at all times.
Race Rules
- If you are competing in fancy dress please stay hydrated
- Wheelchair athletes are allowed but must be self-propelled (not hand-cranked or electric)
- You cannot be accompanied by anyone who has not entered the race, nor by such as walkers and cyclists
- You are advised by the organiser to not wear earplugs for music as you may miss vital instructions
- You cannot be pushed around the course
- You cannot push a child around the course in a buggy or pushchair
- You must seek approval if you are thinking of taking part in a challenge
- You must not carry a child around any part of the course
Elite Runners
Runners who meet the following times will be granted free entry into the race:
- Men: Sub-30:30mins
- Women: Sub-35:20mins

What prizes are available at Plymouth 10k?
There are prizes available for the top 3 male and female runners., and for the top male and female in these age categories: VO40, VO45, VO50, VO55, VO60, VO65, VO70, VO75. There will also be a prize for the top male and female U20.
Are there any age restrictions at the Plymouth 10k?
Yes, you must be at least 15 to enter the 10k.
Can I wear headphones for Plymouth 10k?
You are advised not to wear earplugs for music because you could miss vital instructions
Can I wear fancy dress for the race at Plymouth 10k?
You can run in fancy dress as long as you are wearing appropriate running trainers and ensure you are hydrated. For any props or heavy equipment you would like to run with please email details and pictures to rdaniel@redrokevents.co.uk so the organiser can decide if it is safe to use.
Can I run with a dog or push a buggy at the Plymouth 10k?
It is against the race rules to either use a running buggy or to run with a Dog. Blind or partially sighted runners can be accompanied by a guide runner as long as you inform the event organiser in advance: daniel@redrokevents.co.uk
