Pretty Muddy Race for Life – York routes

THE COURSE

The 5k course is a flat single lap course using both the Knavesmire and the perimeter track of the racecourse. The terrain is a mixture of grass and tarmac pathways with lots of mud and obstacles.

How long does it take to complete the course?

The obstacles vary at each event so we can’t say exactly how long it will take, but most people will finish in about an hour.

Remember - our events aren’t competitive so there is no pressure to finish in a certain time.

Kit List

HAVE THE RIGHT KIT

Think comfortable clothes and trainers. Bring spare clothes and towel

BRING A BOTTLE

We’re trying really hard to reduce our single-use plastic consumption at Race for Life this year. We’re happy to provide bottles of water to those who need it, but if you can bring your own reusable bottle of water, already filled, that’d be great!

In our efforts to make Race for Life as sustainable as possible, we’re looking into water-providing solutions that are both cost-effective for the charity, and environmentally-friendly, by using as little single-use plastic as possible.

BE SUN SMART
Covering up will protect your skin - don't forget your hat and sunscreen too.

Spectators

This is a great spectator event. There are plenty of great viewing points to support your friends, family and loved ones from.

Volunteers
Our events couldn't happen without our amazing volunteers.

We're always on the lookout for folks to help at our events. If you know any lovely people joining you on the day who can offer a spare pair of hands, then why not suggest they volunteer? It’s also really fun!
