Route information
This event starts at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park within the South Downs, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The route starts and finishes in the park, taking runners on spectacular tree lined trails, past magnificent views, and along sturdy trails.
Runners will head out of the park and enjoy running through ancient woodland at ‘Head Down’ before reaching the iconic South Downs Way. From there, both routes loop back to the park via the famous local trail the 'Milky Way'.
Coming back to the park, each route explores 'War Down' which boasts weatherproof, tree-lined gravel tracks before heading to the finish line.

Despite lots of hills especially that first 2 k killer - and plenty of mud - I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I will make sure to invest in trail shoes for the next one though. Nice to reach the paved part near the end and a welcome relief from all the mud. Great scenery and well organised. Be careful if following the sat nav. Follow the road signs to Queen Elizabeth country park NOT your sat nav as it’ll take you down a dirt track !!

I entered the half originally, but thanks to an injury was not sure I would be able to run. The organisers were great about letting me drop to the 9k distance at short notice, and in the end I managed to run further than I thought I would be able to and managed the 15k, again changing my distance at short notice. Organisers were fine about it. In the end I had a wonderful morning.

Although there were 2 water stations it didn't say on the event information the water stations were cup free

Very hilly so probably best not for a first time racer or those wanting a PB. However, good challenging course.

This was my first time at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park Half Marathon and it didn't disappoint. The parking was extremely easy as I arrived there at 0800 (race started at 0900). Registration was easy, as I had not received my race chip/number in the post, and the staff were knowledgeable about the course and gave us advice on good spectating positions throughout the course. I was surprised how little people were there, which was a positive for me as the place was not overcrowded. The course was extremely fun, challenging and muddy! There were some crazy hills about 3/4 of the way through, which were certainly a challenge. I will 100% be going back for some more fun next time! The only thing I would improve is the number of aid stations throughout the course, as I could only see 2 on the entire race.

First time trail runner - fantastic organisation especially for beginners and for someone like me with anxiety. Was more slippery than expected (trail shoes definitely needed) Challenging elevation Only downside is paying for parking but that’s not a knock on the event

Great run, well organised and easy parking. Would be nice to have your name called out over the finish line but that's not a biggie :)

Second time at this event. Well organised and clearly marked 9k course. Parking better this time too.
