3 7 4 4 Mile Loops

beautiful scenery, shared with lovely people. it doesn't matter if you are a beginner or have already run a few hundred marathons, everyone will be welcomed and encouraged to do more than they thought they could. people end up doing accidental marathons here. you could easily end up making new friends and coming back for more events. The medals are so pretty for this event, and good quality. you can choose to have a goody bag (a tonne of chocolate and goodies) or to donate part of the entry fee to the month's charity, which was Mind this month. the entry fee also supports the nature reserve the event is held at, run by Plantlife, which supports wildflowers, bee habitats etc. You are sure to see some wildlife and more varied plants than if you were running your average farm tracks. I will definately be back again. Trail/mud shoes make a big difference for the winter one, the chalky slopes can get a bit slippy

This was my first race with the SVN Club. I thought it was well organised and a good and varied route. I love the philosophy that allows the race to be competitive for the more elite athletes while at the same time there was a genuine willingness to embrace and celebrate all levels of achievement. I did feel the choice of hydration was rather limited with only diluted juice or water being made available. What about having coke and some electrolyte drink?I wondered if it would be a good idea to give a prize to a runner chosen at random.Overall, my experience was very positive and I would be happy to recommend and return for more.Derek

I had heard good things about the events held at Ranscombe and this run did not disappoint! Well organised and friendly, I was able to tackle this challenge with my friends at our own pace and all the runners were doing exactly the same. I am wanting to get a full set of the Ranscombe medals so look forward to another three runs here. Beautiful countryside but never felt isolated. And of course I loved my medal and goodie bag. 

This event has a time limit of eight hours to run as many of the 3.7 or 4.4 mile loop as you wish! It'll be January, it'll be hilly, it'll very likely involve some mud!
