Route information
Ultra
Runners will start with 4 miles of rural road running to warm up before hitting the Coast Path.
Runners will be created to world class views as they travel up and downs along the Northern Coast to the western tip of Wales.
Next, runners will run along Ramsey Sound, before reaching Porthclais and looping back to St Davids, past the Cathedral and climb the infamous 39 steps.
Before doing it all again.
Marathon
Changing for this year, the Marathon course will start and finish in St Davids, taking on rural country roads for the first 6 miles. Once you'd reached the coastal path, the next 19 miles will show you the best the Pembrokeshire Coast Path has to offer as you run the traditional Ras Dewi Sant Marathon route.
The last mile will see you come off the Path and head back towards St Davids. The route will still feature fan favourites the Carn Llidi Climb and The Sting in the dragons tail – The Cathedral Steps.
A full map and the route details will be published nearer the time.
Half Marathon
The Half Marathon will start a stones throw from St Davids RFC.
From here you will run 2.5 miles which takes in the city and rural roads to Whitesands Beach.
Next runners will be taken right and up and around the front of “The Mountain” and down onto Porth Melgan before heading back to Whitesands.
At the beach you will join the Coast Path for a 9 mile stint along this spectacular section of the National Park that will take you around to Caerfai Bay.
During miles 4.5 to 9 you really will be out in the wilds and face the toughest part of the course as you run along the Ramsay Sound, making your way from the Lifeboat Station to the aid station at Porthclais Harbour.
Once you arrive in Caerfai there is a slight pull as course starts to take you back inland and then around the country bridleways and roads on the outskirts of the City until you reach mile 12.5 and the last challenge of the day.
Like those completing the marathon, runners will be faced with the infamous– ‘The Sting in the Dragons Tail’!
10k
The route offers a mix of road and coastal path terrain finishing with the iconic Cathedral Climb.
Please note:
Whilst the majority of the course will be marshalled, it is simply not practical to sign post the whole course. If you follow these guidelines you will be sure to stay to the correct path:
  • Keep the Coast on your Right
  • The Coast Path is marked by the ACORN – Follow the ACORN !
  • Footpaths are marked with a walking figure – DO NOT FOLLOW THESE
  • If we want you to head off the coast path we will sign post or marshal it
