Route information
Commemorate the founding of Hare & Tortoise Running with this friendly event suitable for all abilities and levels of runner. Beginning in Rayne, the route journeys along the traffic-free Flitch Way, which boasts spectacular views of the Essex countryside as you follow the old railway line towards Bishops Stortford.
The improved route from 2023 allows runners to choose which way they want to run, allowing racing in different directions to make for an exciting race. Runners can run the same 5k loop or alternate to create a 10k loop with an aid station at the 5k mark. The slightly undulating course is easy to follow, with an out-and-back format.
Runners will complete laps of the course to reach their desired distance:
- 5k - 1 lap
- 10k - 2 laps
- Half Marathon - 4 laps
- Marathon - 8 laps
- 6 Hour Challenge - as many as you can!
What's included
- Bespoke finisher's medal
- Goody bag

- Fully stocked aid stations
