Route information
This is a 6 hour & 32 minutes timed event you can choose your distance from 5km to ultra. At 11am there will be a 2 minute silence when runners will stop to remember those who bravely fought and gave their lives over 100 years ago and in those conflicts since. The organiser will deduct the 2 minutes from your time in order to give you your running finish time.
You can complete as many laps of the 4.37mile (7.0km) looped course along the River Wear as you wish within the 7 hour limit.
There is no minimum or maximum distance and you can continue running and complete as many laps as you can manage within the time limit!
For those runners who choose to run 3 laps or more, you will also earn a Saturn Running half marathon, mega half marathon, marathon, ultra or 50k pins which can be attached to your medal ribbon.
The course is along the River Wear path and classified as a trail run.

11:00 2 minute silence
Age Requirements
You must be aged 12 or over to compete in the standard entry. You'll need to be 18 or over on event day to be involved in the UKA Affiliated event.
2 Minute Silence
There will be a 1-minute silence at 11 am to remember our fallen heroes. These 2 minutes will be deducted from your finish time to give you an accurate finish time.
Aid Station
There will be an aid station at the start line. Therefore you can access the aid station every 3.28 miles. It will be stocked with drinks and snacks to keep you going.
On Site Facilities
The toilets will be in the Durham Amateur Rowing Club and available to use for the entirety of the event. There are also showers should you want to use them. There is a bar in the Rowing Club.
How old do I have to be to participate in the Remembrance Day Run?
This event is open to those aged 12 and over. You will have to be 18 if you want to enter as a UKA affiliated athlete.
Will there be toilets at the Remembrance Day Run?
Yes. You can find the toilets inside the Durham Amateur Rowing Club.
Do I have to run for the entire time of the Remembrance Day Run?
Absolutely not! You can choose to stop at any point, though you must complete at least one 3.28 mile lap to receive a medal.
