A. The event is intended for a wide spectrum of abilities, but if you are starting from a low base, it has to be taken seriously and will require considerable training. As the event approaches, we would expect you to have built up your training rides and to have tackled some sizeable hills along the way.Participants certainly don’t all cycle at the same speed, but if you can maintain 10 mph over a long and hilly day, then that will be just fine. The event will begin at 0745 hrs and we want everyone finished by 1800-1830hrs – you can work out whether you can match up to this timetable. RtN is an event where the most challenged riders will be supported, but it is also vital that both riders and support team are not on the road into the evening twilight. There will be cut-off points at the half-way point of each day. If you have not made the progress you expect, we will invite you to stop riding. Visit our training page for some helpful tips for your preparation. We will be delighted to discuss any doubts with you.Q.
