Welcome to Ride the Trafalgar Way... a legendary route, steeped in history. AUDAX - for the randonneur in you. The UK’s newest Brevets de Randonneurs Mondiaux (BRM) - at just over 500km. Our iconic Colossus route has now become a little more achievable! If you’re ready to take on a long distance endurance ride, with iconic landmarks and challenging landscapes through the day and night then this ride is for you.

Ride the Trafalgar Way - Audax route


The inaugural Ride the Trafalgar Way Audax is an individual challenge starting at Pendennis Castle, Falmouth and finishing in London. The ride is just over 500km, 312.10 miles long - a historic route, re-designed for the modern rider.

This event has a mandatory route - you should follow the route instructions as closely as possible.

Audax on open roads, including riding through the night following a designated route. The ride is just over 500KMs/312.10 miles long and riders are required to complete the route within a specified time. Riders will pass through the cities, towns and villages of Truro, Fraddon, Bodmin, Minion Launceston and Okehampton before passing Dartmoor and descending into the cathedral city of Exeter, Honiton, Axminster - passing along a road renamed The Trafalgar Way in 2005, then onwards to Bridport cycling along the Jurassic Coast, Dorchester and Blandford Forum before passing through the cathedral city of Salisbury, Andover, Overton, Basingstoke, Hartley Wintney, Camberley and Sunningdale before heading into central London via Parliament Square finishing at Admiralty House, Whitehall. requirement during the hours of dusk/darkness and in poor visibility. Riders without the correct lighting for the ride/weather conditions will not be allowed to ride or will be removed from the event.

What type of bicycle can I ride?
The following bikes are permitted:

  • Standard road and hybrid bicycles
  • Single-speed (both fixed and freewheel) bicycles are allowed as long as they have suitable brakes
  • Mountain bikes are allowed – although please use slick tyres to conserve energy
  • Tandems if both riders are officially entered
