The Prudent Riverside Half Marathon is running again is set down at the superb George & Dragon pub on the newly designed and revamped Lancaster Quay.The race is mainly run on the Lune Estuary footpath which follows the River Lune towards Caton with superb views of the Lune Valley. A traffic free route suitable for all athletes!

Course Information
A flat fast course using the network of paths up following the Lune.
The race starts outside the George & Dragon Pub before looping around underneath the impressive Lancaster Castle. The route heads to Caton before looping back towards Lancaster.
Majority of the route is traffic free and is fully marshalled / signed.

We are an independent family run business that has successfully organised races for athletes of all abilities since 1998. Our events, from 5k to marathon, are situated in and around the scenic district of Lancaster and Morecambe.

Where can I park?
Parking for competitors and supporters is available down the Quay but please be aware of the parking restrictions in place for residents before leaving your car. Lancaster has a number of alternative car parks close by and can be found using this car parking link.
What is the race route?
The race takes in some scenic coastal views across the Lune and is an extremely friendly half marathon for first-time runners and experienced runners alike. Route maps can be found on www.lancaster-race-series.co.ukThe course is mainly flat and fast with the majority of the route using cycle paths and quiet roads which will be clearly marked and marshalled for participants safety.
What are the rules for the event?
This race has been measured and certified permitted under UKA Rules.
How far apart are the drinks stations?
The drinks stations will be 2.5 to 3 miles apart and will have cupped water.
What else will be available on the course?
A number of marshals and community groups will be on the course providing runners with jelly babies and Vaseline if required!
NoWill there be mile or km markers?
There will be mile markers, every mile.
How old do I need to be to run?
To enter the Prudent Riverside Half Marathon, you must be 17 or over on race day.
Where can I find my race info?
If you live in the UK and entered by post, this race info will be posted out to you explaining the details for race day.If you entered online your information will be sent to the email stated in the online application. Please check your spam as sometimes emails go into this folder instead of standard email inboxes. Numbers are to be collected on the day of the race.I can’t run –
Can I transfer my number?
Unfortunately, there is a no refund policy and we are now unable to transfer numbers.What if I am ill,
injured or unfit before the race?
We recommend that you do not run if you feel ill, injured or have not trained for this event. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
Can I run in Fancy Dress?
Yes we welcome runners in fancy dress. Please take care with your choice of fancy dress as roads & paths are NOT closed to the public.
Can I wear an iPod or music player?
It is not recommended. For your own safety you need to be aware of what is around you, and to be able to take instructions from marshals.
Is there a baggage store?
No, please do not leave valuable items in the George & Dragon as we can not take responsibility for any damage or loss to any property.
Where are the toilets?
There are toilets located in the George & Dragon. Please leave plenty of time to use toilets due to the number of toilets available. Due to the venue please be aware changing is very limited.
What food and drink will be available?
There will be food and drink available in the George & Dragon Pub and we ask where possible to support this excellent local business.
When will the results be available?
Results will be posted online soon after the race on www.lancaster-race-series.co.
ukWhere is a good place to spectate?
The course has excellent spectator areas but please be aware that paths are not closed to the public so please take care if out on the course. For more detailed information on the best places to spectate please use the contact us page on the race series website.
