The Rob Roy Challenge is a fund raising event that is now entering another year. It was launched in 2006 and has enabled over 5,500 hardy souls to battle the Scottish wilderness and raise almost £3million for a number of worthy charities. It has been one of the most successful fundraising events in Scotland and with your support it will continue to grow and benefit charities for years into the future.

After the successful 10th year in 2015, the 2016 event sees an update to the route to simplify logistics for competitors while adding an enhanced variety of challenging route options. With a central base now at Kenmore competitors no longer need to provide their own support teams, however we do encourage friends and family to come along to support challengers at Kenmore and to enjoy the Rob Roy Challenge Festival weekend.

Also, for the first time we are offering two cycle-only options; covering the cycle sections of Big Red and Schiehallion’s Shadow.

As a huge thank you for your time all volunteer Marshalls receive the following:

A chance to support some incredible charities and learn more about the work that they do
    Rob Roy Challenge tech t-shirt
All the training and information you'll need for the day to carry out your role as a volunteer Marshall

If you would like to take part in a major fundraising event, make new friends, help amazing causes and have lots of fun in the process then we'd love to hear from you. Please contact us to let us know you are interested or if you have any questions what volunteering as a Marshall would entail.

As much as you like! We know that people have full time jobs and that it can be difficult to find time for training ahead of the event. We believe that the event has options for all athletic abilities and therefore any and all training you are able to do will only help to make the event more enjoyable for you on the day. Try to get out regularly for a hike or a run in the weeks leading up to the event, and if you are taking part in the cycle make sure you have been out practise your cycling on the road. It is recommended that the longer cycling routes are for more experienced cyclists only.

We try to allow people as long as possible to complete the event so that as many athletic abilities as possible can participate. Although we would expect that the majority of people will complete the event within 5 to 13 hours.
