Please arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of your event to get registered, and warmed up. Please also note that your starting wave time will be sent out in the days prior to the race so keep an eye on your email inbox.
Please wear appropriate gear, classic running shoes and athletic clothing is ideal. Spiked shoes are strictly prohibited because they can destroy some of the obstacles. Be prepared to get wet and muddy.
Probably best to bring a spare pair of clothes and a dry towel for after your event.
There is free access to the event for all spectators, except for a £5 parking fee if driving separately. We want to encourage our Roughians to bring their friends and families to see them take on The Travelator at the finish line, and don’t feel the need to charge for it!
Volunteers are always needed so if you are interested in signing up to help at one of these epic events, then please reach out to [email protected] to inquire.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is Rough Runner different from other obstacle races?
This is a game show orientated obstacle race, so it has shifted away from traditional military style obstacles to more TV-show obstacles like 'Wipeout'. It makes for some epic viewing and post-race photos.
Can I upgrade my Rough Runner ticket to a different distance?
Yes – the easiest way to do this is on event day, where you just need to pay £10 to upgrade your route during registration (or £20 if you’re going from 5km to 15km).
Can I transfer my Rough Runner South London ticket to a different day or a different event?
Yes, you will be charged the difference in ticket prices and these may increase as you get closer to the event so it works in your favour to sort this sooner rather than later.
Send an email to [email protected] and they will set you up with a transfer code.
Can I transfer my Rough Runner ticket to someone else?
Yes, you can change the runner details on your ticket to ‘give’ it to someone else. You need to follow the link for your ticket in your original confirmation email, but if you’ve lost this then email [email protected] and they’ll be able to do it for you. Please note you will only be able to do this up to 10 days from the event after which time you will not be able to transfer.
What's the minimum age for the Rough Runner South London?
The minimum age for all Rough Runner events is 16 years old at the time of the event.
Are dogs allowed at the Rough Runner South London?
In most cases Dogs aren't allowed, however, each venue operator has their own policies. Please drop an email to [email protected] to inquire. Any dogs that are brought to events, guide dogs or otherwise must be kept on leads at all times, and any foul must be picked up and disposed of properly. Please note that at some of these events there will be livestock in the area.
Have you got showers at the Rough Runner South London?
There are hot showers at most of our events. To help raise money for our chosen charity, The Stroke Association, there's a minimal charge. You are strongly urged to bring a towel and a fresh change of dry clothes. If it's hot you'll be sweaty, if it's wet you'll be muddy. Either way, it's much nicer to have a drink at the bar if you're feeling fresh.
Have you got changing rooms at the Rough Runner South London?
Yes, there will be changing facilities, but it’s basic – literally a marquee tent, one for men, and one for women. There’s nothing inside them.
Stunning runs in first class venues. Take on up to 20 epic, game show-inspired obstacles on a 5km, 10km or 15km course – a choice of distance to suit any level of fitness, and a perfect blend of challenge and entertainment.
