Well organised race and would recommend as straight forward. But disappointed no prizes/presentations for the half marathon race. Came 1st lady and was the first race I've done where a winning position has not been awarded something. A little surprised as the triathlon events taking place earlier in morning received prizes.

Logistics to arriving and leaving first - The course is a bit difficult to get to if you don't have a car, but managed to find an uber to get me the last 20 minutes to the course from the train. Finding our way in proved slightly difficult and after my Uber driver dropped me off, a guy working there made sure to yell at him for not reading their minds on where cars should go. Leaving provided new difficulties resulting in me needing to jump an 8 foot barb wire fence to get out of the venue.Transportation aside, the event was really well run. It was 29C around start time, and they increased their water stations to deal with the heat. There were 3 places to get water in the 3+ mile loop, so you were never more than about a mile from water. The miles and kilometres were all well marked. There was a good amount of porta potties, although oddly, they all were handicapped ones, so they were extra big, but only maybe 15 total. Crowd support was good for what this was, a 3 mile looped course, out in the country, with no shade cover in July. The goodies at the end were great. They didn't have the shirt I ordered, but a nice lady took my info and mailed me one a week later. Overall a well run event aside from some driving signage. I'd do it again if I had a car and it wasn't July.

Lovely place and great atmosphere. Unfortunately, starting the half marathon at 10:30 was a bit late in July and around 12 it was too hot to keep running.

We were expecting showers, but this didn't seem to materialise for the half marathon race. Water stops plentiful and the event was well organised.
