Join this super fast 5k & 10k race, hosted at the historic Ouston Airfield. Built during WWII, this airfield has been used for motor racing since the 1960's. This lapped flat course is so flat that it will almost guarantee you a PB. Come for the bespoke finisher's medal and a fantastic flat route.

Route information
Set at the amazing WWII Airfield these 5k & 10k races will ensure you will be flying off of the starting blocks. The flat race course is perfect for anyone seeking a great PB or a beginner wanting to have a go at a race. If you are running the 5k race it is a singular lap, if you are running the 10k it will be two laps. This race is fantastic for anyone wanting to experience that great PB and finish-line feeling.

By Car
If travelling from London by car you can travel via the A1 continuing straight up past Newcastle upon Tyne.

Event day logistics
10:00 10k race starts
10:15 5k race starts
11:30 Cut-off time
Registration time will be confirmed closer to the date of the event.
Race packs
All race packs must be collected from the race HQ on the day of the event.
Age Requirements
  • 5k: All entrants must be 11 or older to compete.
  • 10k: All entrants must be 15 or older to compete.
Water stations
There will be no water stations for the 5k race until the end. However, during the 10k race there will be a water station at the 5k mark.
Individual prizes
The top 3 men and women will receive prizes as well as age group winners for the M40+ and the W35+ categories.
Team prizes
The team prizes will be calculated by taking into consideration the position of the top 3 competitors from each team.
Toilets will be located at the Race HQ marquee.
Code of conduct
  • Do not travel to the event if you are showing any symptoms of covid-19 as outlined by the NHS
  • Come ready to run - minimise your interaction with race staff, volunteers and participants by being as self-sufficient as possible
  • Come alone if you can
  • Under no circumstances swap your number or give your place to another participant
  • Be respectful to volunteers and participants
  • Observe social distancing wherever possible
  • Carefully consider your travel plans, avoiding public transport if at all possible
  • Leave more time than you normally would to get to and from the event
  • Be prepared to bring your own water and food and carry it with you during the race and please dispose of rubbish responsibly
  • There will be no on the day entry so please register beforehand

Yes, there will be plenty of toilets located at the race HQ.
Can I run with my dog?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to run with your dog as this race does not have a canicross option.
Do I have to be fast to run the Run Northumberland Super Fast 5k & 10k?
No, runners of all abilities are welcome, however for the 10k there will be a cut-off time of 1hour 30minutes.

Did the 10k in 2022
Not as flat as expected and surface was quite loose, there are a lot of pot holes to dodge !Enjoyed it overall and will be back for the half marathon in June.
