The half mararathon course was described as being relatively flat but was probably the most undulating course I have run with some very challenging hills which made any chance of a fast time for me impossible. Fortunately, the weather was not too hot but I found it to be just too hilly to enjoy. Many thanks to all who helped to organise and attend this inaugural event but I don't think I will be running it again because the course was too hard.

It was great to have an event in Redditch, and the atmosphere both beforehand and afterwards was brilliant, with some great spectating along the route. The routes were challenging, with a lot of elevation, but I like a good challenge! Would be great to have had an additional water station for the 10km and to have perhaps offered isotonic drinks for the half marathon runners.

The speaker not working at the start line left a lot of people confused as to where to line up

Very hilly which was a shock to the system but the support from the Marshalls and spectators was amazing. So good at the end to feel the atmosphere on completing my first half marathon…and to hear our first names called out as we crossed the finish line!

Loved it, great atmosphere…course was brutal! Would’ve been good to have race pack before day, save the queuing.

This course had more hills than I was expecting, over 1300ft of elevation overall! But beautiful scenery, and local residents made it a treat. Some teething problems around the organisation, but hopefully they'll get those smoothed out for next year.

Liked the course but the last hill is a killer and takes some of that enjoyment of reaching the finishing line away- swooped from the half to the 10k because of the hilly course

A beautiful course, make sure you put plenty of hill training in. 350m of elevation in the race

I enjoyed it, but it was a really hilly course, even if you’ve planned for this by studying the course map and elevation graph beforehand. It would be more interesting if the course was a loop, but the support from the spectators was amazing - kept me going!
