Route information
This stunning point-to-point starts in the Moors Valley, taking you through the forestry on the Castleman Trailway, past Upton Lake and then along the beautiful Bournemouth coastline. This is a multi terrain event and mostly flat and firm, however runners must be advised that the ground may be wet underfoot in places due to weather. The final 27k of the route will mainly be on promenade and footpaths.
The route will be marked with yellow/black arrows and occasionally red/white tape. Runners should familiarise themselves with the route before race day. The final race route will be emailed to all participants prior to event day with maps and GPS information including the locations of checkpoints, feed stations and toilets.
Please Note There are cut-off times for each checkpoint. If you arrive at the checkpoint after the cut-off time you will be asked to retire from the race.
You must check-in at all checkpoints regardless of if you require refreshments/ assistance or not.

- Checkpoint 1 – Ferndown Wayfarer Cricket Club (9.1k) cut-off at 09:40am
- Checkpoint 2 – Willett Arms Pub, Wimborne (18.6km) cut-off at 11:20am
- Checkpoint 3 – Poole Christian Fellowship (32.3km) cut-off at 13:50pm
- Checkpoint 4 – Bournemouth Seafront (41.5km) cut-off at 15:40pm

There is parking at the finish at Hengistbury Head, Broadway, BH6 4EL. If you are being dropped off at the start, there is a 10 minute drop off period during which parking is free of charge.
Event day logistics
06:15 - 07:45 Registration
07:00 - 08:00 50k starts
This is a staggered start time. Your exact start time will be confirmed before race day.
Arrive at the start area 10 minutes before your exact start time.
Race Pack
Race packs will be available for pick up from registration at the start between 06:15 and 07:45. It will include:
- Your race number* (to be worn on your front)
- Your race timing chip which will be on the reverse of the race number.
- Your RTTS Bournemouth drawstring bag to have essentials transported to the finish for you
- Your RTTS headscarf (can be used as a face-covering at the start/checkpoints if
required)
- Your Ultra Violet silicone cup (if you have pre-ordered one)
Bus Shuttle
You can book the bus shuttle from the finish line (Hengistbury Head) to the start (Moors Valley Country Park) before race day. After you book you will be assigned a bus according to your start time. Please be sure to be on time for your bus as you may miss your start time.
Baggage
In your race pack you will be issued with a Run to the Sea Bournemouth drawstring bag labelled with your number. These bags will be transported for you from the start to the finish for your essential items. These drawstring bags are small and will be the only items transported.
Onsite Facilities
Toilets are available at the start and finish venues. There is cafe close to the finish where you can purchase refreshments post race.
Kit List
This kit list is essential and you will not be able to run without everything on the list.
- Fully charged mobile phone with emergency numbers included
- Water bottle holding at least 500ml of fluid
- Survival blanket
- Waterproof jacket
- Money to enable you to taxi/ bus/ train to your destination, should you retire
Checkpoint/ Feed-station
At the checkpoints there will be snacks and drinks (including vegan friendly options). Disposable ups will not be available, please bring your own reusable bottle or cup.
It is possible to have your own food and drinks at the feed-stations from checkpoint 2. To do this, you must seal and label your food or drinks package with your race number and the feed station it is for. These must be dropped into the relevant checkpoint feed box by 07:30 at the latest.
