Route information

Goodwood Motor Circuit is unique and it is the only classic circuit to remain entirely in its original form. Originally opening in 1948, Goodwood has hosted countless motor racing events and is current home to the Festival of Speed.

The running course will take place on the track itself and runners will benefit from the smooth tarmac.

Each lap of the course is around 5k, so competitors will need to complete a different number of laps depending on their race.

By Train

If you wish to travel via train, there is a regular service from London Victoria to Chichester (1hour 40 minutes), plus the coastal service from Brighton and Portsmouth. Buses or taxis are then available at Chichester Station.

What is the cut-off time for the RunThrough Goodwood Motor Circuit Grand Prix?

There is a strict 6 hour cut off for the Marathon race.

Is there a baggage drop? Is there a charge for it?

Yes, there will be a baggage drop and it is free to use. There will be a member of staff managing the station while you run.

Did the race in 2022

An event designed to get PBs and it does that very well. Mostly flat smooth track with just a couple of inclines. multiple laps depending on the distance being run. Water station just after passing the finish line each lap which provides small bottle and gels. A real no frills event so cost is kept down, t-shirt is an optional (paid for) extra. Plenty of parking, short queues for the facilities beforehand and baggage drop. Supporters can only stay within the grandstand of the home straight so it is very quiet the rest of the course.

Unfortunately my time for the race was not displayed in the results and has been removed. Emailed in twice and still not been resolved. Pretty improtant part of the race being able to see your result especially when you are trying to get a Good for age time slot…. Please fix this as the timing provider has let you down.

Really enjoyed it. Great marathon for supporters. Laps made it easy for them to cheer me on! Absolutely loved it.

Event badly organised: although entered I was not on their entry list; no signage to the event car park for those driving from Chichester - only signs for those coming in the opposite direction; no signs at first to event village; no sign for Info desk and tiny sign for marathon/20 mile check in - other distances had larger signs; and then when I gotbmy result it was wrong. Upon checking it turned out that there had been a WIFI issue with one of the laps but there was no announcement or notice on the results or facebook page that there had been an issue. Have emailed in and I hope all the results get checked and corrected.On the positive side: marshals were great and the race commentator was good in encouraging people around each lap: it was nice getting shout outs! And the course was better than I expected: definitely a PB course. Just a shame the organisation let it down.

Great team and support. My timing wasn't listed in the results but Candice came to the rescue and contacted the support team. She did this late on a Sunday night which was incredible support. Please let her know how grateful I was. Excellent organisation. Thank you

It was lovely to support the marathon runners, 20 miles and then the 10, 5K, runners as I paced a young girl around the course. I will come back and do it without pacing next time.

I thought it was a well organised event - hated the head wind but hey you can't plan for that :)My recommendations would maybe to hear the music around the loop, I saw speakers out there but no music and this would be great where there are no spectators, also maybe a water / litter point on the opposite side to the one that was there.Apart from that, well organised, the guy on the Mike was great too.ThanksJo

Lack of support around most of the course was a big factor for me. Ran most of the race solo so a bit of cheering would have helped.. Good organisation though. Thanks
