RunThrough Lee Valley Velopark – February routes

The course is a closed off 1 mile loop around the iconic 2012 Olympic Velodrome.

Competitors will need to complete 3 laps for 5k, 6 for the 10k, 10 for the 10 mile and 13 for the half marathon.

This course will offer a unique chip timed one mile splits which will be available after the race.

Please note that there is a strict 3 hour cut off for the Half Marathon distance.


There are multiple fantastic points around the race track to watch the runners and cheer friends and family on. The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is a historic venue and offers plenty of entertainment for young families.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a bag drop?
There will be a secure area where you can leave your baggage. It is recommended you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to the baggage tent staff and they will help you find your baggage.
How can I access my results?
Results will be available on after the race.
Where can I find photos of the race?
Runthrough will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race and they will be on Facebook after the race so be sure to check it out and see if you can spot yourself.

    Well organised. Plenty of water and chip timer worked wellCouple of speakers on the route playing music was great.

    Overall satisfied with the event organization, track was interesting but in a good way! Usually not happy with the way RunThrough calculates the race distances but this one was done right. Maybe only thing was the passage to next lap a bit narrow if there are more than 3 runners close to each others. Anyway, would definitely do it again!

    This half marathon was very well organised, with a helpful crew for bag drops, water and snacks. The support crew were also great at cheering us along when we needed it most. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Even though the course was a little monotonous, each lap brought cheery smiles and good vibes from the support team. My advice would be to pace yourself as its 13 laps!
  • Did the Half Marathon in 2019

    I think this is a good 'casual' racing in preparation of a bigger event. It's a 1 mile lap plenty of turns that makes the distance calculation on the gps quite inaccurate at times (not much though!). Organisation is clear and smooth, however I believe they should not allow kids (1 - 2 years old) to stand on the road with their parents as it's dangerous for them. I also believe the medals could be a little bit more 'stylish' and different for each event (I should not be getting the same medals of somebody who ran 5k, I believe, but this is a minor thing).Atmosphere is ok, a bit cold, not much 'entertainment' but I did not expect much. The type of attendance is very diverse and it attracts a lot of 'walkers' and 'very slow runners' so not really competitive.Results and picture are available almost immediately however the pictures are not searchable, so you need to look at the entire album to find yourself.Much better than a training and allows you to concentrate on your pace as the course is a repeating short loop.

    Really well organised event and the volunteers/staff really helped keep me going across the line! When the going gets tough the other competitors around really helped to push me on...I well recommend giving the odd race a go!
  • Did the 10k in 2018

    Personally I followed a couple around the course and they came through the finish line. I was handed my medal and i then stopped and looked at my watch. It seemed wrong. The other couple seened to end race after lap 5 . I handed medal bavk snd carried on to complete the 10k . It is awgul race with hills and unmarked laps :(
