A lot of this race was on the tow path with pedestrians, cyclists, dogs etc who were all getting quite irate at the runners which made it feel quite unsafe and also stressful. I personally did not enjoy the amount of running on grass, especially when it had just been torrential rain.

Bit disappointed. Route doesn't go through Richmond Park which I hoped for. Little atmosphere and marshals weren't as encouraging as other events I've done. Flat course and timed start reduced congestion which was good.

The course is a nice route in normal conditions but unfortunately following the storms, there were some trees fallen along the route which meant that runners had to get through some really slippery, muddy sections to get through. This really increased the risk of injuries. It would have been better if the organisers had made everyone aware of these problems the day before the race, or just cancelled the race. There are no toilets along the length of the course, which is potentially a problem too.

Conditions were very hard due to the weather which the organisers have no control over and they done very well to simply put on an event. My only criticism would be that there was quite a lot of running on thick grass and this really took its toll on a lot of competitors and there was one small section that was unsafe that you had to walk for 10metres due to extremely thick and wet mud. I will be back again, hopefully not after a weekend of a storm.

The event was enjoyable but badly organised. A lot of the things that were promised were not there and the volunteers were unable to answer basic questions on where to find things. I’d do the course again but probably with a different company.

Very friendly and well organised event. Scenic and varied course. Great potential for PB as very flat, although not today after aftermath of Storm Eunice!

Should have been postponed. Lots of fallen trees on the course. Dangerous rerouting - saw people crawling in the mud. Misleading as well as the course was NOT Richmond Park but Richmond Towpath.Really really poor

Really good except for one of the ‘elite’ runners barging me out of the way on a dangerous section.

Really good, flat course, so perfect for your first half marathon or achieving a personal best. Lovely marshals

The race was very well organised and I attended in the weekend after storm Eunice. The organisers despite fell trees managed to go ahead with the race and do minor detours. This was mostly through muddy terrain (in an otherwise mostly road race) which made for a challenging course if you wore road shoes meaning that it would be optimal for a PB. Notwithstanding this, under normal conditions it would be a fast course. I ran the race with trail shoes and I had a great time as the terrain did not impact me (particularly muddy and uneven sessions). If you are a beginner runner, my recommendation is to attempt this race in the autumn as there is a higher chance of the weather conditions being better.
