Route information
This half marathon route takes you along the Saltmarsh Coast trail pathway, which spans 75 miles from South Woodham Ferrers to Salcott in Essex. The course runs alongside the River Crouch to the unspoilt riverside town of Burnham-on-Crouch and Riverside Park, which has uninterrupted views across the water to Wallasea Island and its nature reserve. Experience coastal views and the breeze on your face as you run along this stunning pathway.
The route is mostly off-road, so is mainly traffic-free. It is quite flat and fully marked and therefore is a fairly easy route to follow if this will be your first half marathon.
Beginning at Clements Green Creek, the course begins by journeying through Marsh Farm Country Park with its incredible scenery of the river. Following the River Crouch, runners will continue along the pathway, heading past Bridgemarsh Island and Marina and through the village of Althorne. The route pushes on through the countryside, finally taking participants into Burnham-on-Crouch, past the yacht harbour to the finish line in Riverside Park.
