One member of staff was particularly unhelpful, almost rude which as a first timer with nerves and lots of questions didn’t help at the start of the swim. Other than that great course and all other staff we had deal isn’t with were friendly and very helpful. Maybe she’d had a bad morning!

This was my first sea swim, after two introductory sessions at Brighton. It was great that I could dip out after 1, 2, 3 or 4 loops for the 5km. But I didn't and completed it even though I was very sick at 4km, but then felt good to go again to the finish. I'd like to thank profusely the organisers and rescue team for all their support, keeping a keen eye out for a wheelchair swimmer. I did my very best to make sure I came last, but keeping within the cut-off time. :D :D I will certainly encourage some able friends but anyone wheelchair should make sure they can swim 6 to 7km non-stop first as it is harder in the sea and also make sure you've done some good distance SEA swims BEFORE entering the event. I have done a 5km non-stop swim each week the last 7 months and it was still a long haul. Plus some introduction sea swim that really wasn't enough. MAKE SURE YOU CAN COMPLETE BEFORE THE EVENT, AND NOT TRY TO 'WING IT' ON THE DAY. TOP RATING ALL THROUGH!

There were no timing chips as expected. The course and details were changed the week before. But did enjoy

No official timing chip system used. Purely to save money and to line their own pockets!! Finishing positions questionable. Putting 3 separate distanced swim events on at the same time. Having to swim around lapped swimmers. Again this was done as a money making scheme and not in the interest of the competitors. The organiser seriously needs to re address these issues. I will not be entering any more of his events and certainly won't be recommending them to anyone. I am the current masters British Age group open water champion and the results showed me in second position by over 5 minutes in the 3.8k race. I led from start to finish!!! Figure that one out Ben the organiser!!!
