Route information

This lapped course will take runners along the River Wear ensuring beautiful waterfront views all the way around.
Each lap of this timed event will be 3.28 miles and is fast and flat. There will be an aid station every 3.28 miles to keep you going on your way around and pushing for marathon distances.
This event is open to runners of all abilities and you are welcome to walk around the course if you prefer. It is possible to walk the marathon distance within 8 hours.
Runners who choose to run more than 4 laps will run extra race pins depending on the distance completed.

Saturn Running have now sold out of their event-themed medal. They will now offer the 100mm double-sided Beam Me Up Star Trek medal to anyone who enters from 7th February. This is an incredible medal that will not be available at this venue again.
Aid Station
There will be an aid station at the start line. Therefore you can access the aid station every 4.37 miles.
On-Site Facilities
There will be toilets in the Durham Amateur Rowing Club.
Distance Pins
You'll receive a distance pin if you complete either a half marathon, mega half marathon, marathon, 50k or ultra in the 7-hour time limit.
Age Requirements
Ages 12 and above are welcome to participate in The Love Run - North. You must however be aged 18 or over to be eligible for the UKA Affiliated entry.

Will there be toilets at The Love Run - North?

Yes. You can find the toilets inside the Durham Amateur Rowing Club.

Do I need to be an experienced runner to take part in The Love Run - North?

Not at all! This event is open to runners of all abilities and that includes beginners. You only have to run one lap to receive your medal, and after that you can keep going or retire at your leisure.

How old do I have to be to run in The Love Run - North?

This event is open to runners aged 12 and over, although you'll have to be 18 or over to be eligible for the UKA affiliated entry.
