I thought the only thing that let the race down, was that there was no electronic time collection device at the finish, leaving the volunteers at the end the task of writing down runners finishing times.

I knew the race would be difficult, but what got me though was the beautiful scenery and support from the staff. Thank you

A very lacklustre start for the race, just tap your watch and go. Not the sort of race I'm used to. I only gave 1 star for the atmosphere just because there was no celebration start, finish or any in-between. It was like we were just doing our own race. The other runners were encouraging, and especially helpful when others would get lost which happened several times. Thankfully most tracked it on their watches or phones. The people at the check points were great, really were. Overall I wouldn't recommend this race if someone was expecting it to be a race day atmosphere, although if someone liked orienteering I'd suggest it to them.

All in all a really challenging course and a great day out! Good parking, slick registration, nice renewable wooden medal and a good map/GPX. Course is very challenging, I did the marathon. One main opportunity for improvement. The aid stations were at 10, 20 and 40k a lot of people were saying they were too far apart. Thankfully a Mountain Rescue truck was happy to distribute water about 25k. A lot of people were running out, so pack extra. The starting advice is 500ml. But considering the course and frequency of aid stations, I think that should be increased. Or even better, more frequent aid stations! But other than that it was awesome!

An amazing route. Really well organised with quick easy registration Happy friendly Marshals. On a personal note as a gluten free vegan I'm a nightmare and bring all my own food. So to find mountain fuel products at the checkpoints was amazing top quality products. And for the price of the entry fee this race is a bargain.Highly recommended ill be back next year.
