Great event. Particular shout out to the events staff-incredibly helpful, friendly and smiling.... Even at 2am!!!<br />A good course for a less experienced river swimmer as it's a v straight wide course. The beginning in my wave (2.00-2.30min/100m) was very bunched up for some distance-which took a bit of the edge of enjoyment)-this was by far the most popular category.... Any way to split this group in future would probably help overall experience.… read more

It was a great swim, the furthest I had ever done! Very early start but that's to be expected. If you park at the start don't forget you are going to have to walk all the way back to your car so be prepared for a walk along a tow path!… read more

Route description
Route description

The course is a straight line, point-to point-swim (ie no turns) and takes advantage of the stunning course of the Henley Royal Regatta. The swim is upstream, the strength of the stream varies from year-to-year, ensuring that no two events are the same.

**Water Temperature
**
The water temperature at the Classic depends upon both the outside temperature and the quantity of rainfall in the days and weeks running up to the event. It is therefore very difficult to predict.

Based on previous years, at the end of June, it's expected that the water will be between 17 and 19 degrees centigrade.
