Route information
Elevation: 10k, 21k, 42k
Terrain: Grass, Trail
Route Type: Loop
Laps: 1
The Shere Run offers 3 different distances: a 10k run, a half marathon, and a 42k run. There is also the option to compete in the 42k event as part of a team of 3.
Each course will be clearly distance marked and course marshalled during the race. Offering some of the most scenic trail runs available in the South-East of England, this is a truly fantastic event whether you are new to running or a seasoned pro.
10k
The 10k course will take participants out of Shere and toward Dogkennel Green where they will tackle hills up to the 3.5k mark. There's then a gradual downhill section around the 5k mark as runners will head back towards Shere, with a quick final kilometre greeting all participants.
Half Marathon
The Half Marathon Course takes participants out past Vale Farm and through a quick up-and-down section around the 7-11k mark. All participants will finish in Shere as the course loops back around after a considerable drop at the 18k mark. There are plenty of short and sharp dips and twists to keep all participants interested so strap on in for an exciting adventure.
Marathon
The marathon course consists of a long journey around Shere's finest trails. There's a large incline starting at the 12k mark as participants will climb up Wotton Common. After this, participants will drift down towards Hurt Wood before a final climb from Chilworth to the finish at the starting area.
Water stations
The 10k route has 1 drinks station on offer, the 21k route has 2, and the 42k route has 5 drink stations en route.

My 1st 10km trail run and definitely a challenge I was proud to complete. Runners and team were great, getting a cold spray halfway and then at the end was a lifesaver on such a hot day! Love the Buff, waiting for my medal by post as they ran out but otherwise a great experience!

Really well organised & run, made to feel very welcome and at ease by the organiser and it all ran smoothly. Friendly marshals at sensible places on the course and good aid stations. Definitely one to do again, even with a spicy hill to start with!

Distance came up quite short on my garmin, said it was 19.6km rather than the half marathon. Also no portaloos arrived in time for the start of the race. A few more ribbons at some of the junctions would have also made navigating easier. Other than that a nice course, rest stations good, friendly and helpful stewards and great atmosphere
